  1. Oh I fully understand that and researched it. Just making a reference of why I was hesitant. And absolutely. Even when I kayaked or had my canoe with a trolling motor I’ve always kept the required equipment.
  2. I was about to say lithium fires are not simple at all to put out unfortunately
  3. This exactly. My personal truck or my service truck at work never get the radio turned on lol Can you come tell my 10 year old this? She certainly doesn’t listen when me and mom tell her a million times lol
  4. Perfect. I’ve used some noco stuff at work and it’s always been great.
  5. Those are excellent points. Went ahead and picked out a 100 amp hour life p04 that’s on sale and a noco maintainer/charger for it. We shall see how it goes!
  6. No particular brand? Just one that is life p04 technology? Because I did find some with good reviews that are the same price as a deep cycle lead acid Correct I don’t have a battery. That’s why I’m researching as much as I can to buy once lol. As soon as I have a battery and get it registered this week that’s the first thing is a test float and see how it does and see what may need to address
  7. I agree I’ve had some real good lithium tools at work have the battery’s crap out and smoke a get super hot.
  8. That’s is an excellent point.
  9. So that’s good customer service lol. I see both points though. I kinda think the weight may help some? And availability is 3 mins from the house to run to fleet farm. I will have to look at the reserve capacity. Man that is some heavy draw on there to kill those batteries like that. That’s nuts.
  10. That’s the plan. I love a tinkering project lol
  11. I honestly haven’t pulled the cowling off or anything yet. That’s just what I was told. It does not run. Used to he said. It has good compression. I’m sure it just needs the carb cleaned out and fuel lines and some spark plugs. I’ll probably just put it in the garage as another project for a later date lol Just looking at Google it’s around a 1960 Or 61 judging y the cowling design
  12. Thanks! I didn’t know that.
  13. I was just looking at the life p04 batteries on Amazon
  14. I absolutely agree. That’s a sharp boat!
  15. See that’s a legit worry for me. I took the outboard off and the 5 gallon gas can out of the back. And me on the bow. I could probably use the weight on the stern
  16. These are very valid points about how lithium ion works. And a good point why I probably need to go lithium. Yeah my battery tenderness a smart charger. But Noco makes a nice small one. And I’ve used their stuff in the past at work.
  17. I can’t wait for our weather to be more consistent here
  18. Thanks! It actually came with one very similar to that. Definitely always need a paddle incase. I guess I gotta sit down and look at batteries.
  19. TRolling motor will be my sole propulsion.a lot of Lakes here are no wake anyway. And the motor has a lot of issues and is a 1958. So I’m just not gonna fight it
  20. That’s kinda where I’m at. That and availability locally. And I’m just nervous about the lower cost lithium batteries. I’ve seen a lot of mishaps from power tools to vehicles in my industry. And the low cost ones just make me nervous lol
  21. I definitely will I’ll start a thread of it a lil later. And start posting pics of the work. Or cleaning up
  22. I’d love an edge on this boat. Definitely something I’ll be saving for. Fleetfarm Had agm also I was looking at. Yeah temps would be an issue potentially. And honestly I’m not using the outboard or gas can. A lil weight of a lead acid or Ann battery probably would hurt while I’m On the bow.
  23. Thanks a lot! Been working on cleaning it up and taking stuff off all day lol
  24. Curious what everyone is running for they’re trolling motors? I just need a single 12 volt in the group 24-27 range. ( 20’year diesel mechanic/industrial mechanic) I totally know the difference I lead acid and lithium. And know you can’t use the true whole battery on a lead acid. So I was curious what everyone is using. I’m just looking for 2-6 hours of run time and not break the bank
