  1. Well that’s settled lol. Edge it is. that’s an excellent point. It has a very small lowrance $100 unit. I’d like to eventually upgrade to a garmin strike 4 cv. Or maybe something a tad better. I love the idea of wiring them up like that though. I’d hate to have to paddle home
  2. Since it’s getting into rainy season. And we are supposed to have snow Sunday. ( absolutely Nuts weather this spring) Fleet farm had covers 20% off. So I bought a new cover with no rips to try and preserve the decking and carpet since it lives outside now that I have it. They had it in a shop building. God wish fleet farm Sponsored me lol. Im constantly there.
  3. Thanks for the honest reply! He’s a great guy. And I trust him. But I really Just don’t want someone else’s problem either lol. No matter how good the deal is. Thank you though because I didn’t know that about them! And per you’re opinion of the pedal height I was out there measuring and looking to see if eventually I can install a recessed pedal Box.
  4. lol thank goodness I have paddles. I plan to get a second battery to have as a back up. Even if it is a 50 amp hour. I will talk to him more about it. It’s given him some problems. And he has had to repair it a few times. And it doesn’t have the pedal just the remote. So I may be further ahead just getting a new one
  5. Talking with my coworker who bow fishes a lot today. He just replaced his trolling motor on his custom aluminum boat he hand built. He offered me to try out and buy from him his 70 pound thrust 24 volt PowerDrive lol. I told him I think that’s a bit much and I don’t wana buy another battery lol.
  6. 100 amp hour lithium showed up today. Fits the box and just below the deck board with the terminal Bolts installed just like a measured lol. I’m shocked haha. Also crawled in the front deck as far as I can fit to see how they have it all framed out. With the measurements and placement I found. I can add a recess box for the trolling motor pedal if I don’t like how tall it is. The minnkota edge pedals are quite tall it looks. Smallest have options.
  7. Honestly I shoot for $150 rod then a tee in the same price range. That’s about perfect for me. And falcon rods, lees reels and Shimano all fill the bill nicely
  8. I’ve looked at used units on marketplace. And i plan to add a recess box I’ll either order one or weld one up at work.
  9. That is a great point. That’s the only concern I have honestly. Is the height of the pedal. They look really tall

I can’t stand tics. We get them so bad here in Iowa also when the weather warms up. I try to use off bug repellent. Tuck plantain socks if I’m wearing jeans. And I check myself over at home and avoid brush if possible. Honestly I probably miss alot of good spots because I’m not willing to stomp through stuff to get to a spot. To afraid of ticks.
  11. Thank you! It’s been fun. Idk about a good build. If anyone’s looking for a how much money can ya spend build this ain’t it lol. I just wana go catch fish not on the bank lol Thank you! Plan to register it Tuesday when I’m off work and next weekends weather looks beautiful. So if it stays that way impact to float it then. I agree this one had good reviews and will get me started maintaining the lithium battery when it shows this week. But a noco iso my want list big time and I will have one before next winter when the battery will sit.
  12. Ponds I fish regularly are literally 3-5 mins from the house depending which one in the chain of them I go to. The lake I plan to frequent now that I have a boat is 15 mins or so.
  13. Excellent idea! I had one in my kayak in Florida now that you say that. Idk how I could forget that. Thank you. Tupperware is also a great idea.
  14. Made it out for about 30 mins after work and got one. Nothing like the fish yall have been catching! You all have had some monsters lately. But in true Iowa fashion this morning was side ways snow almost a white out for 3 hours. But by 4 o’clock it was all melted and sunny and 45 degrees lol.
  15. Got the battery box installed. I can’t use the lid it sticks up past the back deck boards. But that’s ok it will keep it in one place and is covered by the deck boards anyway. Also installed a tub on the port side. I can keep rope, the anchor and a small Utility box I got to keep first aid stuff, some basic tools and sunblock and crap like that in. That sides deck boards anyway was cut out for the gas can that was to tall. So it’s a little funky but I’ll Make a new one some day with out the hole In it lol. Also got my 10 amp charger for the battery. Battery should be here this week.
  16. Ice is gone thank goodness. Just cold now. Open water so I fish even in the cold lol. Oh man that sounds like fun!
  17. Very nice man! Gotta love good fishery’s. Yeah it’s flipping snowing here. We had false spring for like 2 weeks. Hopefully the snow we get Sunday is our last hoorah. But I’ve been catching fish so oh well
  18. Gawdang. You Have some killer fish where you are.
  19. That’s honestly what’s gonna happen moving it will just not be worth it lol
  20. I’ll probably leave it in the back. Only thing that will really be sitting on the floor is some tackle and rods. And on the front deck the trolling motor pedal. It shouldn’t be to cluttered. Am I don’t want the battery under the front deck because it’ll make stuff harder to get out I think. but we will see how it floats and all that. Oh absolutely. It will be fine just making conversation with the random thoughts in my head haha
  21. That’s a great point. Honestly hadn’t thought where I’d put that stuff other than on the floor next to the back chair. I believe it’s o ring connectors. But I can always add a plug to it. The boat doesn’t have a breaker in it. So I have to add that anyway. But with the trolling motor being mounted and no quick disconnect mount why bother with a plug lol I could just hard wire it.
  22. It is. I’m happy with it and honestly I kinda like the green. Ahh thank you I appreciate that. I need the help haha
  23. So as I’m working on this thing. They had the battery in the back starboard corner. I’m debating moving it to the back of the front compartment? I’m looking at the minnkota wiring chart and have a full understanding of 12 volt electricity and voltage drop. It would’ve a shorter run for the bow mount. And I would use the existing wiring for the transom mount motor. It’s 6 gauge wire plenty heavy. But roughly at the max for that length of wire. And that would have the battery roughly at the center of the boat instead of the back? What’s everyone thoughts? It’s a 26 pound lithium battery.
  24. After school conferences I got out for about 40 mins. Weather kinda goes to crap after today and will be cold again till middle of next week. And a flipping chance of snow Sunday. But got two tonite on the bladed jig. I’m really liking the bladed jig a lot. And they are inhaling it when they hit. Steady slow retrieve with some Twitches of the rod tip.
