Another Cheater Caught
It’s disgusting. Something that’s supposed to be fun and amazing ruined by greed. I love tournaments and following them. That said there’s a lot I’m against as well.

Tell us about a time a bait you struggle with clicked for you!
Man what a great topic. And story. Tough one for me because I generally struggle with a new technique for a while. But honestly it was probably the jig. I’d caught some here and there. But never built confidence in it. Last year I tied one on and just fished it all year. And a lot of help from folks on here I got the hang of it. And really caught great fish and quantity. I enjoy it so much now I probably should put it down and fish other stuff like a Texas rig. So it’s kinda become a bad habit lol

Gas or electric motor?
That is so well said. I agree completely lol

Gas or electric motor?
I’m glad I’m getting opinions. And I wasn’t thinking crazy. I wouldn’t min a gas motor. But I can’t even really use the potential. Where I can just get another lithium battery and 55 pound thrust for about the same price

Gas or electric motor?
That’s my thinking. Way less maintenance. And I have a 55 pound edge bow mount and it makes the bill boat scoot real good. But I like having another one on the transom.

Gas or electric motor?
So most of my fishing lakes in my area are all no wake lakes. My question is for my little 14 foot aluminum boat. Would you even bother with a small outboard? I have a 36 pound thrust on the transom now. And according to my lowrance it will push me about 2 mph. No wake is roughly 2 to 5mph. Should I bother with a old 2 stroke like a 6 or 9.9 or just invest in another lithium battery and a 55 pound thrust trolling motor and be done with it

Joedodge boat build/set up
Wow thank you for that chart. Looks like I was around 90-80 percent.

Joedodge boat build/set up
Ahhh ok. Well thank you. I knew I’d used more this time it sat on the charger for about 4.5 hours. I definitely should look into to a gas motor

Joedodge boat build/set up
Yep was a nice morning. Wind just got to be a tad much. It pushes off great. Loading kinda sucks I’ll have to snap a pic of the trailer after I launch sometime. It’s mostly rollers and 2 baby bunks. So it doesn’t nestle into the trailer that well. It’s not awful tho

Absolutely. The learning and adventure has been amazing. I definitely think I eventually need a small outboard. And I hope to catch a fish off if some day lol

Joedodge boat build/set up
Went out this morning. New graph worked well. Water was 49 degrees. And I could actually see what was going on underneath me. Got how Deep the trailer wants to be in the water to launch and trailer figured out. Wind was light 8 knots. After about 2 hours it picked up to a steady 15 with 20+ gusts. I found my limit lol. Never felt unsafe by Ang means but this things so light it’s a giant pain in the wind lol. Was on the trolling motors hard for 3 hours or so and only dropped the battery to 13.28 volts. Fished brush piles and dead trees all morning. Lost a jig. Hung a spinner blade up and broke a blade off. Three about every style reaction bait I have at them. I really suck at this boat fishing stuff lol.

Do you post your bass pics and videos at any other sites?
Every Facebook page I’ve ever been on for fishing has been awful lol. But I do enjoy marketplace lol

Joedodge boat build/set up
The picture doesn’t do it justice lol. I’ve found some smaller ones or I’ll make one the size of the pedal

Joedodge boat build/set up
It showed up and it’s a monster lol. I’m gonna return it and either make my own at work. Or order a slimmer more compact one like TBN sells. It was funny how big this plastic panther one from bass pro was up front

Joedodge boat build/set up
Threw two more cleats on the starboard side so now there is 4. I got a panther recessed foot tray from bass pro that got delivered today. I’ll be making a trip out to the store to return it Saturday. The thing is absolutely massive lol. Way too big for this lil boats deck. So I’ll deal with captain morgan pose until I get time to tig weld up an aluminum one custom to that deck and pedal.

Go to baits always on the deck?
Yea 4-5 rods is the max I want in this boat lol. I used to do well on Ned rig. But haven’t in recent years.
-
Go to baits always on the deck?
I like this a lot. The only thing I’d add is a bladed jig but that’s because I just got them dialed in and I’m catching fish on them haha.

Go to baits always on the deck?
I like that. I definitely am trying hard on the bladed jig and spinner bait I’m gonna work hard this year. I loved the Neko rig last year. I need to get back on the Texas rig creature. I threw a jig or swim jig so much last year I kinda got away from the basics

Go to baits always on the deck?
That is the best response with out even saying a bait name Lol
-
Go to baits always on the deck?
That is me for sure. I’ll start with something and just keep throwing it. So I’m trying to get better at reading the situation and predicting what to throw
-
Go to baits always on the deck?
So I’m figuring out what I wana keep on the deck and what’s kind of redundant. What baits do you always have rigged up on the deck?
