  1. So I was watching g some Randal Tharp and it Kenney vids on you tube. I'm using stout rods and braid line. And feel I have a fairly aggressive hook set. But man am I doin something wrong by not having a raging aggressive hook set lol
  2. My local shop sells the Procyon combos for $130 I want another combo so bad lol
  3. The berkley lightning rod shock series casting rod I have is well built nice finish and excellent action ad sensitivity. Great bang for the buck
  4. Whys the advantage I swimming a truck work or dinger on a weighted swim bait hook? Just a faster drop?
  5. I fish them on gambler ez swimmer swim baits they work great. Never thought about a senko
  6. Awesome guys! In the same way I turn the bait and use it long as possible. I dont get the folks I've met throwing them out
  7. Was talking to a buddy about this. If he rigs anything soft plastic and it is t working or moves to something else he throws it out. Won't put it back in the bag and reuse it if it's in good shape. I do reuse them lol. What do you guys do?
  8. I have a daiwa Procyon 3000 on a Procyon rod. I am very very pleased! Been fishing it. Couple months now. Reel is smooth bail is nice and free. I couldn't be happier with mine. The drag is nice and sensitive also
  9. I left mono because of these kind of problems. I just couldn't stAnd d it. Very nice right up tho! Thanka for biting the bullet and trying it out and letting us know
  10. Lmao the color scheme isnt exactly amazing. Blank is red and gold with yellow handles lol. But I've never been a flashy matching this and that person I don't care how it looks if it performs well.
  11. Oh I deffinatly will, hopefully it works out well
  12. No the weather here is a rainy a front is coming through as we speak. But I plan to try and get out this weekend
  13. So I went to the local tackle shop and looked at the halo rods. I talked to the guy and he fishes them in freshwater. I looked at what they had and went with a star light. It's there $49.99 rod. Went with it to try on one of my smaller low end reels. He finish and fit looks good, eyes all tight and good. Balance is nice and the action is stiff. They now have labels on them. It's a 7'0" medium spinning rod, lure weight 1/4-3/4 oz. line weight 8-17 lb. I'm impressed so far just messing with it. I know it's only a $50 rod but for the money it seems real nice!
  14. Thanks for all the help I appreciate it guys!!!
  15. Thanks front replys everyone. I see a pattern forming lol
  16. Hmm I'll have to take a good look at them tomm at the tackle shop! I'm interested in one for sure and they guys there love them. I just want a nice medium power fast action rod and due to the vague descriptions it's hard to find out if this rod fits me. I wana throw wacky rig, weightless T rigs, 1/8 swim baits and rattle traps and such.
  17. Lol how do you like the action tho? Is it a fast action
  18. So far it's black, black/blue flake, pumpkin seed, and I'll probably go with a motor oils or watermelon red type color
  19. Pumpkin seed sounds like a color I gotta have!!
  20. Haha thanks for the replys. I appreciate the help and opinions. I know it's not a replacement for the stick baits but Id like something with a lil more action is all. I started on trick worms and moved to dingers and thought I'd give ribbon tail a try to change it up
  21. I do use braid and fish a lot of cover in fl. I guess I don't understand the parabolic action? The line and lure rating issue was a lil discouraging. I've seen the vid of the rod breaking but was more curious on current rods
  22. I'm considering a halo rod since there a local florida brand. But I've seen several bad reviews in searching here and on line. But they where older reviews. I was curious if anyone new if they stepped up the quality control at all?and if it's true they don't make a fast action rod?
  23. Wow thanks a lot for all the help everyone I really appreciate it!
  24. Man I never thought about te good shiner idea!! That a solid idea
