Always Bring A Scale (Or Tape Measure)
You gave away your PB to another guy? Dang... lol I would have probably put it back. If it was a double digit bass..... well then, it would be a completely different matter.

How Do You Guys Stock Your Bank Back Packs?
LMAO. I'm the complete opposite. 60% of my tackle bag are jigs. The other 30% are crankbaits. And the last bit is soft plastic and miscallenous lures.

How Do You Guys Stock Your Bank Back Packs?
Haha yeah. Essentially, with my bank tackle format, I only need a tiny space in my tackle bag to fit all my soft plastics!!

How Do You Guys Stock Your Bank Back Packs?
LOL I only pond hop. So I can give you a little advice about what to carry. I usually only care one type of each soft plastic. For example, one pack of craw baits, flukes, senkos, ribbontail worms, grubs. I care a different color for each style of bait. For example, flukes are usually white or shad, craws are a dark brown or black, senkos and ribbontails are watermelon flake. If I had a boat, I would bring all my baits with me. But because we can only fish from the bank, your best bet is to bring one of every type of soft plastic, in different colors.

What Is The Best $100 Rod?
Don't Carrot Stix break a lot. I have heard that Carrot Stix are sensitive, but break really easily. I also know for certain that the warranty program is complete bs.

Putting Backing Line On Reel Before Putting Fresh Line On
It depends on the fish you are fishing for. For harder fighting or bigger fish, such as stripers or smallies, I would get more mainline and less backing. But likewise for bass, I would only use a 40/60 ratio.

Weird Cloudiness In The Lake
Now I'm getting annoyed. Let it be known that "Red Earth" was the original perpetrator who challenged the words I said. I never wanted to start this debate over my diction. I never said that it was 100% a red algae bloom. I only said that if there was a fishkill, then there would probably be a red algae bloom. Immediately after the OP stated that there wasn't a fishkill, I concurred and said " then it probably isn't algae". So I don't get how I explicity said " it was a "red" algae bloom". LOL Life Lesson Read all the posts in the thread before you start critizing and contradicting others.

What Is The Best $100 Rod?
The veritas gen1 had huge problems with breaking. That's why Abu came out with Gen 2. Gen 2 is supposed to be much better in terms of breaking.

Multispecies Pond
For the bass, use an 6 inch t rigged ribbontail worm and a 2/0 hook.

Freshwater Reel With Saltwater
How can you bring a freshwater baitcaster for saltwater, and not use it in the ocean? LOL. But in all actuality, it probably wouldn't be to good of an idea. Unless you throughouly clean it, salt will enter through the spool into the bearing and the pinion gear.

4" Senkos?
Watermelon flake or junebug

Baitcaster Setup Question
Alright thanks sooo much!!! LOL this cleared things up for me.

Baitcaster Setup Question
So essentially, what you are trying to say is that the centri. brakes don't affect how fast the lure drops?

Baitcaster Setup Question
Yeah, I will be practicing all of today.

Weird Cloudiness In The Lake
Ummm.... no offense but your wrong. Red Algae blooms don't only deplete oxygen. Blue and other types do, and may be beneficial to the lake. But red algae blooms are a total different beast. "Red tide algae make potent natural toxins. It is unknown why these toxins are created, but some can be hazardous to larger organisms throught the processes of biomagnification and bioaccumulation. Grazers such as fish and krill are unaffected by the toxins, so as they eat the algae the toxins are concentrated and accumulate to a level that is poisonous eat to organisms that feed on them. Large fish kills and several mammalian diseases and deaths have been attributed to consumption of shellfish during red tide algal blooms." This quote isn't mine, but what I am trying to show is that red algae blooms not only decrease oxygen, but also essentially "poison" the fish. So most of the time, in big concentrations like the OP mentioned, a red algae bloom usually amounts to a fishkill. But after thinking about it, due to their being no fish killed, the algae the OP saw was probably blue or some other type.

Shimano Spinning Reels
In the under 100$ price range, essentially, Pluefger spinning reels are the best you will get.

Baitcaster Setup Question
Haha yeah that was the problem. I changed the spool tension, and now it works fine. Also, after I changed the heavy crankbait into a lighter frog, I could set the spool tension lighter. From what I have experimented with, I'm pretty sure that this reel would be better with lighter baits, as the brakes cannot apply too much pressure.

Baitcaster Setup Question
So I recently just set up my Skeet Reese victory baitcaster with 12 copoly line. When I tried it out, with no centrifugual brakes turned on, when I free spooled, the rat l trap dropped really fast. So then I tried with 3 centrifugual brakes with the spool tension turned on max, the rat l trap dropped really fast. So at this point, I was really ticked so I decided to turn the braking system on max, with the centri. brakes at 6 and spool tenstion on max. No luck. Still, the 5/8 oz rattle trap dropped pretty fast. Does anybody have a solution to this problem? Or is it a problem at all?

Shimano Spinning Reels
Shimano reels have also got cheaper.. The new under 100$ reels are all made of graphite. Like the Symetre, Sahara and under. If you are going to buy a shimano reel, then just go with the Stradic FI. Graphite spinning reels are pretty notorious for flexing under big fish.

Has The Spawn Started For You?
True, True. Due it being hot today, almost all the snow and the ice melted. I will definetly be fishing this Wedsnday.
- Incidentals?

Shimano Spinning Reels
Pluefger Supreme is your best option under 100$. From what I have heard, the new symetres are not as good as the older models.

Swim Jig Vs. Bladed Jig
The head on a swim jig looks like a spinnerbait head. Football jigs have football shaped heads in order for them not to get stuck in rocks.
