  1. Check Craigslist you can find some good deal for them on there. I see you are in Dayton so you have Whitewater warehouse and Great miami outfitters to go look at for a kayak. This past weekend (Oct 3-4) at Eastwood metropark had an outdoor expo that had kayak demos there. Good luck in your kayak search.
  2. I can't believe euchre hasn't been mentioned yet. You need 4 people but it is fun
  3. The vic coomer curly shads are deadly in the lmr,gmr and mad rivers. Lots of guys here have good luck with tubes and flukes also. Don't leave out topwater lures my best smallies have been caught on a whopper plopper this year.
  4. I have the 90 size in bone and throw it on a 7' m/f baitcaster with 30 lb pp slick. There isn't much of a hook set, they usually hammer it. I've been fishing rivers lately gonna wait till it cools down a bit till I fish a reservoir when the ski boats go away. The smallies either destroy it or slap at it.
  5. With the amount of twist you would think I was throwing it on a spinning set up but it was on my casting setup. I didn't directly tie on to the lure I used a snap to attach it.
  6. I used my wp yesterday and the only issue I had was line twist. I had a bad twisted knot cause a big backlash and I had to pull off about 50 feet of line and cut it off cause it was twisted so bad. Does braid resist twisting? I was thinking about getting and seeing if it worked better.
  7. I just bought the 90 size wp. I'm going to throw it with my 7ft medium with 12 lb flouroclear. Any possible problems with this setup?
  8. I had to see what all the hype is about.
  9. This is the one of a few albums that I will never get tired of. Lamb of God's as the palaces burn is another.
  10. I will be going to carter caves in July for a family get away. I was going to fish smokey valley lake one of the days we were there and was wondering if I could get a little info on the lake. I watched a YouTube video and it looks like a very clear water lake. I'm not used to fishing lakes with more than a couple feet of visibility. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  11. White, watermelon with black and silver flake.
  12. Not new to baitcasters just to this kind of brake system.
  13. I looks just like that one from tackle tour but the handle is different. How do I adjust the brake pins? My other reels have magnetic brakes so this is new to me.
  14. A friend of mine is letting me try out this pflueger president baitcast reel. It's a backup reel for him since he really doesn't like it that much. Anyone have any input on it, any problems with it?
  15. Wow I have only been out once this year and lost a 1/8 oz jig and a grub.
  16. I started using the safety pin hook keeper last season. I keep a small double sided box for hooks and weights and that trick helped out. I found it on pinterest along with other ways to rig lures.
  17. Thanks for all the feedback. I'm going to give the flouroclear a shot since I have some already. I'm definitely going to look into the tatsu lines, it seems to be a favorite here along with the yo-zuri hybrid line.
  18. Have your buddy check out ohiogamefishing.com. there is a central ohio section where he could find some ponds, lakes and rivers sections to fish.
  19. I have been using flouroclear for the past couple of years and haven't had an issue with breakage. I am going to use fluorocarbon or braid on my jig set up when I get one.
  20. Just wondering about the line stretch if it will affect hookups.
  21. I have a 7'6" h/f casting rod paired with an ambassador c4 4600 reel. I plan on using it for jigs for the time being till I can get a dedicated setup for jigs. My question is would 14lb p-line flouroclear work for jigs? I have a partial spool of it from last season.
  22. Randy Blythe - lamb of god Troy Sanders - Mastodon Dez Fafara - Devildriver Tom Araya - Slayer Rob Flynn - Machinehead
