  1. All this hate for the googan squad is great for them. I bet if you did a google search it would link at least a dozen results for bass resources forum threads. Honestly what they are doing for the fishing community is good cause it is getting kids involved in something they never would have.
  2. I never heard of the guy till yesterday. He seems like a real p o s.
  3. I finally was able to hit a local river. Caught 3 smallies 2 on a bps bomb craw and 1 one a rage menace grub.
  4. My first trip was yesterday. River was slightly muddy and got worse as it rained more. I did catch 3 smallies on soft plastic craws.
  5. I didn't think they made their products in the us with the price point they keep. I'm definitely going to buy more of their stuff now.
  6. Does anyone use toads for river smallmouth? I have thought about it but haven't pulled the trigger on any yet.
  7. The Flat Dawg was an awesome stick worm. I wish they would add it to the powerbait lineup. I still have a couple bags I am saving but yeah they are fragile. I think I caught 2 bass on one worm once other than that it was one and done.
  8. They are calling for rain this weekend so the gmr is going get higher, faster and muddier. I'm gonna try to hit the gmr by Downton Dayton here soon. I am ready to hit the mad river soon too.
  9. I have a 3 year old trion that I have put through hell and back and it works just like new. The drag is pretty smooth for a 35 dollar reel. Keep it clean and lubricated it will serve you well.
  10. Your welcome I have some crawbugs also and I might try the same idea on them. I think I have the same color that you are showing also.
  11. Shove a piece of a old stick worm in the cavity with some mend it that might be easier.
  12. The medium fast should be fine depending on the reel and line choice also. I use a St Croix premier medium fast with a shimano casitas 12 lbs pline flouroclear for my weightless/light weight baits.
  13. Southwest here waiting for the rivers to drop in hopes of catching a smallie or two.
  14. Looks like they were made for each other. I like the look of this
  15. Bps order came in Friday. Can't wait to try the bomb craw, interesting craw style bait. The Trd craws look pretty good too.
  16. The rivers I fish are pressured and get alot of canoe rental traffic. It's been finesse fishing mostly. Ned rigs, small swimbaits and a 90 whopper plopper. I have had luck on poppers and walking topwaters but they like the wp the most.
  17. I keep a few packs of Fat Albert's and tab tails with on all river trips.
  18. I bought a spool of the 8lb flourokote last year for a spinning setup. I think it a great line. It has low visibility, great knot strength and good abrasion resistance. I mainly fish rocky rivers and have not lost a fish to line failure with it just use error.
  19. I have the same situation in my lakes and rivers also. I think I might try out another "Magic" color plastic this year to see what the results are.
  20. I have better luck with green pumpkin if it has purple and green flakes in it. Some manufacturers call it gp magic or gp goby.
  21. I love the whopper plopper. It accounts for 75% of my topwater fish for the past 2 years. Last fall I was wading a river with a buddy and both of us were throwing ploppers, and we caught about 12 between us in an hour and a half. I have a wp 75 I can't wait to use this spring.
  22. I got 3 topwaters and a castable fish finder for Christmas. Not a bad holiday haul.
  23. I have caught 3 spots in Ohio. I believe they are Kentucky Spots here and only in a few of our rivers around the state. There is only one river I fish a decent population of spots and they tend to be on the smaller size. The spots I caught even though they were small they fought like hell and put on a show.
  24. There is 3 Tom. A buddy of mine does the same thing, but he changes lures every 10-20 casts if he hasn't had a bite in that span of casts.
