  1. You mean tree fiddy? haha didn't think I'd see that here of all places. Back to the post, I would agree with bluebasser except I didn't like mine that much.. but $75 would be a good deal if they are NIB.
  2. I caught my best 2 fish ever this year within 10 minutes of eachother on a yumbrella flash mob junior. Didn't get weights but got length and girth and used the estimator on here and it said 5.2 and 4.6.
  3. I agree that I would (and do) use three different setups for the techniques you listed. If I was going to try to tackle all three with one rode it would be a 6'6'' MHF. Maybe a Fenwick HMG or I think FFO tackle has the aetos for 88.88 and they have a 6'8'' MHF that would be a great start that could tackle a lot of techniques.
  4. Its gotta be a finesse tube on my homemade jigheads in the local river. I got a new kayak this year that I can stand up in (F&S shadow caster) and I love being able to see structure, cast to that target, and get bit. I absolutely slayed them with the tubes this year. .... Of course that will always come second to a good frog bite.. nothin beats that haha.
  5. x2 on the chatterbait! i will also up the weight on my drop shot til i can start to feel it again but if its too windy that only does so much.
  6. ya know a few years ago when i was just starting out i thought I'll never need more than these 3 setups. (MHF, MM, MLXF) then i thought well it would be nice to have a couple more... then i thought well it would be nice to have a couple more...then i thought well it would be nice to have a couple more...then i thought well it would be nice to have a couple more... now i have 20.. haha you can't have too many but you can have too few
  7. I don't know which one that is however these are the ones i have success with: http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Hellgrammite/product/1305230801412/
  8. yeah that was where i was at when i saw the deal.. i ended up with the 698 because of the SI. It will be a trolling motor mount so i wanted the extra capability if it came to it.
  9. Its 2 50 dollar rebates, one from gander and one from Lowrance. i just bought the humminbird 698 SI for 225 after 2 $75 rebates
  10. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-DAY3.html?from=basres it used to be that you change the DAY3 to DAY4 and so on but it isn't working this time around... so this was pointless haha.
  11. My personal favorite is a Excalibur (now Heddon) spit n image. I have a few that I let my buddy practice painting on that are sweet. walks super easy, great sound, and a little different shape that a typical walker.
  12. I actually did the drawings myself on solidworks after designing and modeling it. My friend is quite skilled at many things, this being one of them. I consider myself quite fortunate. Sounds like a disaster... hope no one got hurt! Yeah I use 2015 SW, but my company has some weird defaults in their drawing formats Which is why it may look weird.
  13. I don't know what happened to that reply... it disappeared on my computer.. Anyway, I use solidworks at work but I also have experience with Creo, inventor and autcad. definitely fun to play around with fishing stuff on there.
  14. So I started getting into making my own plastics last winter with pop molds of existing baits and a couple I designed out of modeling clay. They worked well and I still use the molds, but, as I'm sure most of you can relate, that made me want to start injection molding some baits. The only problem was that the cheapest injector was like 40 bucks and only 4 oz. I thought I could probably make one of those.. so I called my friend who has a lathe and I drew it up on the computer. Here is the process and results: Starting materials: Cutting the plunger: I don't have pics of cutting the nozzle cuz my friend did it when I wasn't there but here is the final product and first set of baits:
  15. "if enough water did get in there in such a short time...............you got bigger problems than a few cold nights." I agree. Haha. I am just weary because it has happened in the past. Thanks for the information though. It does make me feel better.
  16. Well I don't think it does but we have had a lower unit crack before so I don't take any chances. if it has been in the water I assume water got in the lower unit so if it is going to be freezing for a slightly extended amount of time I will change the oil before it freezes. the ten bucks in oil is worth it compared to the risk of losing my motor.
  17. Yep. Me too I Almost put my boat in the water last sunday to test out my new finder, but we ran out of daylight. Pretty glad I didn't right now or I would have had to change out the lower unit oil again.
  18. I was a marshal for Paul Mueller in the St. Lawrence elite series tourney last year and watched him land 3 LM in a row with a wacky rig then later catch two 5 lb smallies with a split shot rigged senko
  19. Oh man I lost a custom painted wart the other day and rage quit... I think I might just puke if I lost or broke on of those. Glad he is sending you a new one though!
  20. Got my first anglers headquarters order in today.
  21. I literally just got back after clearing the racks at my local DSG. Got ten packs, but only 3 of them were the 5 inchers I wanted. I might have my friend down the road go look at his store. Thanks for the heads up!!
  22. Anyone know if keuka or lamoka waneta is open yet? hoping to go out somewhere Saturday.
  23. I have 5 of the 6.4:1 pro qualifiers and I am wondering if I can buy a 7.1:1 replacement set and switch out the gears in one of them to make it a higher speed reel? does anybody know if the gear sets are interchangeable? Thanks.
  24. X2, but I would have a 3rd in the mix with watermelon/black flake
