  1. I've only had one double hookup, and it was with a traditional jig head and plastic swimbaits flash mob rig.
  2. No, I've made, and lost more expensive ones! Lost a 6" Bullshad three rig($180), Baitsmith Shad three rig($75, and you can't get them anymore), and a Mattlures Baby Hardgill/Hardgill five rig($300). Ouch! I've seen the double whopper plopper rig (with the straw). I'm going to start "experimenting" with that rig soon. ?
  3. Try it, let us know how it works out. I actually started using very large spinnerbaits, 1 oz plus, many made for musky fishing, and have a twist so you could use a snap.
  4. I experimented with various umbrella rigs, this one I was thinking, since bass are so territorial...
  5. Like Brett's daddy said it should be, any rod rated to 2oz. I throw it on a heavy because that's my topwater swimbait set up.
  6. MS Slammer, either mini, 7", or 9", depending time of day. Usually tied to Reaction Strike Mattlures 7'11" H, Curado 301e, 20# P-line CXX.
  7. I have never seen the 190 offered in "17 colors"? Four tops. Loon, bone, red horse, perch...occasionally you see maybe four other colors, bee gee, firetiger, rock star, and lucy. Really for the Musky guys.
  8. They sure do need some more color choices for the 190, that's for sure! As it stands, I go with the typical topwater philosophy, white and black.
  9. 60° today. Let me know. I have some real "barrels" to fish in if you like just catching numbers with the occasional toad.
  10. I like hiking in to the south side bluffs at the Nock. Haven't been to Towhee lately, so I can't say if the pads are still thick, my guess is yes, but if you do check it out, I usually fish down by the dam. I do have a few small private ponds I fish in the area. Let me know if you're interested, I might be able to hook you up.
  11. What's your actual location in S.E.PA? Marsh Creek in the west, or Luxembourg south-east, Giving Pond, and Towhee in the north, as well as Nockamixon...
  12. Contact Carl at KeepinItReelFishing(Youtube), I believe he has a Hudd rod new, for sale at a considerable discount. He's in North Jersey. Nothing wrong with your setup and baits though, 6" baits are a fine place to start.
  13. Let us know if it "pulls to the right"...?
  14. Unfortunately Randall's baits are unicorns in the swimbait world, whereas the Bullshad and Bullgill are easily purchased, and are proven fish catchers (with or without electro shocking.?). OP, Welcome. As for big swimbaits in GA, listen to Tom, he knows what he is talking about. You have a good start, don't get frustrated, just keep grinding. My only suggestion is that you lack a topwater, add an MS Slammer or Lunker Punker.
  15. LOL. Really don't bump into them that much. Hobie on the other hand, can't say anything "negative" about them, hobieheads, they'll come after your family. ?
  16. I'll piggy back on this post. You guys recommending low IPT, moderate ratios (6.4). Fishing swimbaits, like Tom said, long cast, a lot of line out, if you get strikes at distance, isn't harder to reel all that slack line in, set the hook, and keep pressure on the fish with those low IPT, and mod ratios, Wouldn't it be better just to teach yourself to reel slower?
  17. Very, very touchy about it. Not like I was trashing their yaks, good boat for the $.
  18. I'm not sure about this. I got promptly corrected when I mentioned this on one of the forums(except I said FF). "Vibe is independent, out of GA" with yaks made in Taiwan(?), not China. I think OK falls under Johnson out of Maine.
  19. They can be fitted into old mirage drive boats, cost around $800 I believe was quoted to me by a rep. The Hobie can get into some really skinny water, just ask any "Hobiehead". ? ( they use short flutter strokes to keep fins close to boat)
  20. I didnt see your other post, but the ATAK is definitely on my list to check out for next season. As for the occasional requirement of taking your young ones along, I too was considering this, and I'm sure the 120 wouldn't have the space needed. Don't give up on a canoe. If you have a budget that the 120 is going to take, you might want to check out Meyers Sportspal canoes. They're extremely stable, huge weight capacities, and light.(You can occasionally find them on CL). Other options might be Nucanoe, and hybrid kayaks like the Commander or Ultimate. If you're just looking for a pure fishing machine though, probably be tough to beat an ATAK.
  21. Last month was rough. I don't use a 90, even though I have a couple, mainly because it seems to malfunction for me every other, maybe every third cast, and size wise, seems you might as well use a buzzbait.
  22. Just a heads up, very limited fishing on foot. If you give me a heads up, we might be able to hook up, and take my canoe. I haven't been up there since early Spring.
  23. It's tough with my tin 12' semi v, I usually have to pull it off the trailer. I hit both the above places with yak, canoe, or toon. The ramps are long and shallow, so its tough to float a boat off, especially if the water is low. That being said, I've seen a full sized 21' Triton on Giving Pond. So it can be done.
  24. White (Bone), or Black (Loon), really the only colors you need. I don't think it matters to much, they're reacting to the commotion.
  25. Did someone mention scrapple?!
