  1. Ah, yeah, you shouldn't go there anymore...small fish, lots of pressure. Actually, I can't lie. There's nice fish in there. I've pulled 4's and 5's out consistently, both Larges and smallmouth, and I had buddies catch an 8 LM, and another a nice musky. That ramp is just a *****. As for Towhee...there's fish in there that have never seen a lure. Best right after ice out. It's a pretty shallow place, and like Mega said, another ramp that is a b*t*h!
  2. Shhhh...from Riegelsville bridge, from where the Musky comes in, all the way down to Milford below the creek is excellent fishing, especially after Jersey trout stocking. ?
  3. Yes, not really any different from a buzzbait, just different profile and sound. Haven't had luck with the 90, I use the 130 and 190 in monkey butt, blue blood, bone, and loon and perch in the 190. Definitely have drawing power. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/181181-does-the-color-of-a-whopper-plopper-really-matter/
  4. Good job. Think the water cooling has turned on the fish. I picked up a nice 4+ on Wednesday morning. If you're getting into topwater, you need to pick up a whopper plopper.
  5. I keep a hook sharper in my bag, and sharpen my hooks whenever I'm switching hooks or lures rigging out the night before, but honestly, once I"m on the water, I don't do it enough.
  6. Yes, just the other day, and almost everytime I fish a hollow body frog. They're very territorial.
  7. After having horrible hook up ratio with this thing, I switched to throwing a Hudd gill ROF 0, with a single hook, still gets bit better than the LT.
  8. Nada...had a blow up on a mini slammer around 8:30, and then nothing for the next four and half hours. ?
  9. I stay away from the lake on weekends, but will be heading out Friday night. Let you know how I do.
  10. I wish there were 12 lb LMB in the Nock! ?
  11. Don't blame us, you bought the wrong size! 190 all the way...Go BIG, or Go home.
  12. Screw the jigs, let's see the Hinkle!(nice blade btw). Above post was not what I wanted to post, but this one. When using the huddle bug on a dropshot, how long of a "drop" do you use?
  13. No doubt, the Ascend is an excellent value for the money, and completely under-rated (and crapped on by a lot of snobs), but a replacement for an ATAK, probably top 3 or 4 fishing yaks ever designed? You have to admit, to most, it seems like a step backwards.
  14. $600?! No question, that's a good deal. But let me get this right, you sold an ATAK, and picked up an Ascend 128t, really?!
  15. WRB makes excellent suggestions. I would add, match the hatch, in that, if you have perch in your waters, pick up a perch 68. I've gone with weedless versions since they were introduced.
  16. Np. Deepest part of the Nock, and lots of structure, and forage the smallies like.
  17. Hardcore, LOL, the "bluffs" are the steep cliffs in any given area. The area you were fishing "the cove" is actually the Tohickon inlet, or bay, anchored by the "high bridge"(563) at the end. The "Tohickon bluffs" or "Old Bethlehem bluffs" are right past the inlet to the "secret pond", or "hidden cove" on the right(if you're facing the bridge). If you need topo maps let me know. As for smallies, it's all about the deep humps, and the dam. Launch from the Tohickon ramp, head towards the dam, but go down the south side (almost straight across from ramp), essentially following Tohickon creek. I usually follow it all they way down to the south side "dam bluffs" then cross to the "north side dam bluffs", then down to the "dam point" then head across to the dam, which is, at least this time of year, where I find some smallies. I know, it's a long haul, but it fishes faster then you would think.
  18. Unfortunately I will be in OBX, but any other time, let me know. There's a "night crew" at the Nock, and I would really like to see what they're up to.?
  19. I follow New England swimbaiters on FB, they would probably tell you to bring your stuff. I would suggest, maybe down sizing to 6" baits, Hudd 68 and such.
  20. I'll tell you my favorite pond swimbait, a weedless Hudd shad, just one problem, very hard to get(he just put them up on his website, and they sold out in a day!), and on the expensive side. The alternative are some of the good suggestions above, and like J Francho says, pick up some Mend-It.
  21. What areas you guys targeting? I hit three mile, missed a few on topwater early, and was nearly skunked, but managed two sub three pounders cranking the bluff in about 12'-15' of water, decided to not press my luck and called it a day, was starting to warm up a little bit much for my liking.
  22. I would like to suggest some techniques that work for me, but first I've observed something that I think is more important than what you're throwing. Timing, what time of day are you fishing. Living near one of the largest lakes in our area, I witness far, far too often, people going fishing at the wrong times of the day. I understand, "you go when you can", but heading to the lake on a busy Saturday at 7:30 and having expectations of catching fish, is just a waste of time. My advice, this time of year, fish before the sun is up, fish an hour prior to the sun going down(especially as a bank fisherman). Start there, then we can discuss techniqies.
  23. Quantity yes, quality no.
  24. Have you seen the Sawfish "unsinkable" kayak instructional? Might be helpful. Things I look for: good seat, open deck (for standing), rod holders, and gear storage. Good luck, and keep us up to date with how it's going. http://www.instructables.com/id/Sawfish-foam-kayak-build-a-funtional-light-wieght-/
  25. This IS a good option. Why does Nucanoe always slip my mind?
