  1. A point I was just thinking about is how many Lake El Salto shows where all the big names go and catch huge fish. El Salto was stocked and is a huge fish producer, how come no one complains that Shaw Grigsby or Hank Parker go to a "stocked lake" to fish. Is it just because it is a known lake and is much bigger. To me water is water, as long as theres fish in it, it doesnt matter. It's actually a smart idea for Bill because he fishes for entertainment and using a stocked tank is just plain entertaining when all those hawgs are caught. I enjoy his show and it does actually have some strong advice that can help you on the water. Just my opinion though....
  2. Maybe that is the major problem because we have been having some pretty bad weather up here in the north and recently had a couple bad storms. I did go down yesterday and used a chatterbait and actually had decent success so I think it might be the weather.
  3. The pond I go to during the weekdays when I can't get out on the lake is getting much harder to pull out a fish. I used to pull out at least a dozen everytime I went and a couple good ones and I know the owner stocks it regulary each year. I know the fish were spawning about a month ago and I can still see some shallow everynow and then but I just cant find where they went to in the middle. The pond is maybe an acre or two at best and can be covered very easily. it has lots of rocks and is about eight feet deep at the deepest parts. What am I doing wrong to all of a sudden only get one or two fish a week from there? Or is it just the fish being in their lazy summer mood?
  4. Hey guys I'm kinda new and I was just wondering how the whole challenge thing works it sounds pretty cool. If anyone could explain it thatd be great.

  6. I was fishing at a smaller lake near my house and had caught a bluegill on a little roadrunner. As I was reeling in the bluegill a huge bass, maybe 6 or 7 pounds, swims right up and starts chomping on the tail. He eventually got all the way up to the mouth where the hook was sticking out and I thought to myself there is no way I am going to catch my PB fish like this, but the big bass of course got hooked right on the bluegill and it was a pain to get the hook out of both of them. When I finally did I took a couple pictures and was going to release them and looked down the bass' throat to find it all bloody from the bluegills spikes. I didnt count that fish as my personal best and have gotten a better one after that, but boy was that a surprise. I went from a dinky panfish to a big ole' bass.
  7. I almost never get my plastic worms bitten off but it seems like a good amount of my small swimbaits and road runners are missing their tails?
  8. Summer time has come around and the fish are now moving to the deeper regions and mainlake points. This is usually a time for me where I either catch fish by the dozen or very little fish at all. Does anyone have some strong advice as far as presentation in this type of cover as well as go to baits? Keep Fishin -Assasin
  9. How would taking out the big ones help?
  10. I have this one pond thats just amazing by my house it has produced so many bass over the years and now the bass that i was once catching that were 2 to 3 pounds are now getting up to 6 and 8 pounds. As to how I work the pond I typically choose i spot where I have had success to start out with and see how the fish are biting. Occasionally I will have days where the fish, like you said mase, bite on the first cast before it hits the bottom. On a day like this, I like to explore and see where the other fish are located and maybe use some different baits. My favotite baits to fish in a pond would have to be hands down a senko but recently I made a run to the bait shop and picked up some YUM crawbugs and those are just amazing the fish absouletly nail them and it is easier to set the hook because the fish will actually eat it and you can see the line getting taken away. This pond sounds a little tougher to fish than mine but as for baits you cant go wrong with any senko or crawfish imatation. Also remember to always be aware in a pond because a lot of times the fish will be up on the edges of even a bank you are fishing from when you least expect it and if you move quietly you will have a good chance to sitefish and catch a nice one. Take care, Bassassasin
