  1. Look at Kastking. I have a Spartacus Plus on a 6'6" M Daiwa Aird-X. It's a sweet little combo. Also, a Stealth on a Vengeance 6'6" MH. It's really simple to make a decent $100 combo now.
  2. You seem to know what you're talking about. I'll leave you to it.
  3. A leader clears all abrasion issues. I'm tossing Easy Shiners in weeds with Nano/leader. No issues.
  4. Did you use a leader? I love my 12lb and I use about a 6ft 8lb fluoro leader. No abrasion issues.
  5. I hope so, I've been quite disappointed with them.
  6. Get rid of the Vanish leader though. Use almost anything else, just not Vanish.
  7. Well, add me to the Plopper gang. I just caught my first fish on one, a massive 12" LMB. WP90, 6'6" M Aird X with 10lb YZH. He hammered it on a long cast from shore. Fun stuff.
  8. Gentlemen, these rods are just gorgeous. I am truly blown away.
  9. If anyone remembers the name Paul Shibata, I just sold him 2 ratchets on a tool forum I am on. We have been talking fishing and he mentioned he was pro staff for several companies. Lowrance, Navionics, Loomis, Shimano...I just thought the world was pretty small.
  10. With a leader, it is of no consequence. PM sent
  11. I can honestly say the only time I've felt flex is an older cheap casting reel when tossing deep divers. Besides that, mine have all been rock solid.
  12. How about a unifilament? Nanofil, use the slimmest leader knot and you'll make out just fine. I don't use mono or fluoro on spinners for the reason of line management.
  13. Yep. I've a lot of baits like that. Senkos are one of them...no confidence. I just don't like throwing them. I'd rather toss a finesse worm or Ned rig. Don't ask me why. For wacky rigging, give me a trick worm or flick shake.
  14. Confidence Catt...confidence my man.
  15. I've begun using Nanofil 12lb and absolutely love it on spinning gear.
  16. I am Texas rigging finesse worms and craws. It's one of my favorite ways to fish.
  17. The catching has picked up. I've caught several each of my last few times out.
  18. Topwaters. I have caught 3 total. 1 walking a Gunfish, 1 on a Jitterbug and one on a Zoom UV Speed Craw buzzed...that's it.
  19. Common carp, and a nice one.
  20. Catt is correct. Those are d**n nice worms and they simply work.
  21. Well, what's the structure you're fishing? There's myriad variables you haven't divulged. I'd say pick a worm, a creature or craw and start fishing. The worst that can happen is you get bit.
  22. Man, I've changed one of my reels to 12lb Nanofil and I have only used it once. So far, I love it. Fluoro leader and I'm confident as ever.
  23. I guess I should have started caring before 33. Skin cancer runs in the family, but I own 3 Buffs and wear at least a t-shirt...it's a start.
  24. Anyone who says there's a difference anymore hasn't used a fly rod in the last 20 years. The advances in fly rod development has negated any differences. I have and use several 2 piece bass rods. I can't tell a difference.
  25. True, spool size factors in.
