So far this season what has been everyone’s most productive lures?
I would have to say a jig and spinnerbait have produced the most bites as well as the majority of my quality fish this season so far.

Clear water killer
Is this a Yogi Berra quotation? I read and re-read that line like six times and wasnt sure if there was something off or i was just super tired

Universal flip/pitch hook size?
If I was gonna say universal for the masses I'd say 4/0. If I could only have one it would be 5/0.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
After working today and then hanging out with my brother, nephew and my mom for a bit before she heads home to Fla. In a couple days I decided I could squeeze in a quick bonus trip from 430 til 7. Only got 3 all on a spinnerbait with 1 good one that weighed 4 lbs. Even.

Clear water killer
I think we can officially say this thread has been 'hijacked'?

Line broke off in the spool
I've had this happen. When it did I took the spool out and just pulled the line off the spool sideways until I found the end them hand wound it back on. Just gotta make a few easy casts after to get it to lay back on properly.

30 lb. Straight Braid

Got out thurs. Thinking the cloudy/windy conditions would be perfect for where I went. Threw the kitchen sink for 5 hrs. Could only get 4 on a buzzbait with the best at 3-4.

How long will you let a bait sit?
About as long as it takes to turn the handle and engage the reel.?
-
What Braided Line do you use
832 is my personal favorite but I'm ok with sufix performance or spiderwire stealth.

Seaguar Smackdown is Trash
I had tis happen with 30 lb. Kanzen. Cast off a few lures and then broke off a good fish on a hookset. That is my first and last seagar line purchase.

Catching Numbers vs Catching Size
I'm happy to catch any bass willing to bite but I won't 'downsize' to get them. Id still rather catch 5 that weigh 20 lbs. Than 20 that weigh 5 lbs.

Favorite Top Water Toad ?
Not me. I was fishing mine with a 5.4 before it went to the bottom. Now I use a 6.3. And even with the 5.4 I 've had countless fish bust thru 6 or 8 inches behind the bait striking where it was .

Would you try topwater ? Or waste of time
I think topwater is always worth a shot although the earlier in the season[based on iceout not the calendar] the later in the day it's more likely to produce strikes.

Top 5 Producers?

Shimano SLX review
The Alf discount is a 1 time deal when you give them your email. It's also only 10% if I remember correctly . Got an slx combo from them a few months ago for $117 using this.

Got out for about 5 hrs. today. Struggled to get anything going but ended up with 9- 2 on a spinnerbait and 7 on a jig the best one going 3-14.

Shimano SLX review

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Got out 8:30 to 1:30 today figuring my hopes for a topwater fest gone with an air temp of 39 at launch. While i did manage 2 on a buzzbait with 1 good one at 3-13 it was a spinnerbait that did the most work bringing 11 to the boat including the days best at 4-15.

Favorite Top Water Toad ?
For me it's the big bite baits top toad. What I like about it is it's got a flat wider body than most and stiffer plastic that makes it skip.really well. Also that it has outward facing feet that cut a wider swath than others. For colors I like watermelon/pearl and chartreuse junebug swirl. 4 or5/0 grip pin hook on 30-40 lb. Braid.

Eagle Claw worm hooks allowing line to slip out hook eye
Ive had this happen with mustad grip in hooks even with 30 lb. Braid. I 'll either put a drop of superglue in the gap or just tie a 'dummy knot' and slide that against the gap. Both seem to work ok to solve the problem.

Reel price spike!!
The lever on the rear is referred to as the fighting drag ( have it on my rear drag symetres) as it allows you to set the drag as you like it [say 10 lbs.] And and then adjust on the fly when fighting a fish and being able to maintain the setting by returning the lever to center.

@lonnie gWhile I'd rather be 'dialed in' on 1 or 2 lures it's nice to be able to make good choices based on what's in front of you. Was back at it again on thurs. Got 16- 2 on the tx. Rig craw 2 on a jig 3 on a bladed jig 2 on a toad 6 on a buzzbait and 1 on a bps double plopper with a 2-12 toad fish the best. No real pigs but if the shallow topwater assault is gonna be on I'll be a happy camper the next few weeks
