  1. I love me some copper blades. I like to throw them in spring and fall on cloudy days though I'll use them on sunny windy days of I'm feeling the vibe. Bass seem to like them as well.
  2. I would choose a 7'3". Shorter than my longest and longer than my shortest. I've done alot of things with a 7ft. Rod so I know I don't like punching and frogging with one that short.
  3. Frogs/toads for sure
  4. I switched to non-lead when the ban went into effect. I also have an E.P.O. that lives about a mile from me and right between 3 launches I frequent so I see him a few times each year. Even with jigs hanging from my rods in sight he's never asked about them. He's more concerned with safety stuff.
  5. So basically they delayed a crappy sale for a crappie sale?
  6. I'll give my vote for the spinnerbait. However I do prefer colorado blades early in the season.
  7. I go with 40lb. Braid on a 7ft. Mh/f rod and 6.3 speed reel. And always use a trailer hook.
  8. I always use a trailer hook. 4/0 siwash is my preference for lmb.
  9. I like 30lb sufix 832 for this type of fishing
  10. I've got like 4 ponds around me that become about 70% choked off by milfoil and /or chesnut pads most of summer thru early fall. The pads you can frog/toad early before they get to thick and the milfoiloil you punch it as well as pitch jigs and bladed jigs into any 'feedholes' in it.
  11. Personally I like to start out early spring with a Jig, however of the 3 about which you asked I'd go spinnerbait, chatterbait, squarebill, though I'll usually have all 3 rigged to see what they want each time out.
  12. This for me as well.
  13. Lmb: double wide beaver, 6-10 Smb: spinnerbait, 3-6
  14. Search 'big bite baits 100 pack' on amazon. Ive got 100 packs of baits like the yo mamma for as low as 13 bucks.
  15. I've been using their flipping weights for a couple years now without issue. As for whether to use lead or not, it's up to you up here it's illegal so my choice is made for me.
  16. I tried bobber stops but didn't like them. I prefer the jumbo peg-it's. I pull them through until they're nice and tight then I snip it flush at the top but I cut it about an 1/8" below the bottom of the weight and this becomes my 'spacer' between the weigh and the bait.
  17. Well to me this seems like a solution that's more work than the conventional way. While i.prefer the jumbo peg-it's to bobber stops either is gonna be easier. Especially when you are using larger weights (3/4-1oz.) Like I do I'd need probably 2 whole skirts to peg. This would probably be best for a slender mojo type weight. I akso dont understand the 'barely pegged' part, either you want the weight to slide or you dont .
  18. I've got to force myself to be more kind to people who set up lawn chairs 3 wide on boat launches carp fishing with two rods apiece?
  19. 6-10. Double wide beaver/punch rig. Oct.1
  20. 2010 silverado xtra cab. In season I've got everything except my trolling motor battery in there; rods, reels, boxes/bags, lifevest, rainsuit, motor. Once I'm done I all comes out.
  21. Got a few this year: 5-5 moss mouse 5-12 jig 5-4 bps double plopper 5-7 double buzzbait 5-5,5-7,5-8,6-10 double wide beaver 5-9 spinnerbait
  22. I had a pretty good season as far as losing lures only losing a handful all year. As far as lures I went thru and need to restock definatly spinnerbaits. Between smallies and pickeral up I Maine I can end up with 2-3 a day mangled beyond use. 2nd would be double wide beavers. The bottom of my boat is littered with these between July and oct. Also burned up a ton of buzzbait blades.
  23. Ct. Gave us Bryan Kerchal only amateur to win a classic and i believe herb reed inventor of the slug-go. a short ride up 395 to my neck of the woods(mass.) And the pickings get slim. About all we got is charlie moore- the original abnoxious angler,[sorry ike,]and danny corriea who finished 2nd in the classic once.
  24. Well I'm a devout baitcast, straight braid, mh and up kind of guy... But the biggest bass I (probably) ever caught (no scale back then) was caught on a m/f 7' spinning rod 1/8oz. Unpegged Brass weight red glass bead and a 2/0 light wire straight shank worm hook and 8 lb. Mono.
