  1. I'm a little late with this reply but I had this same problem in the past usually with piks and smallies thrashing at the boatside. I have since used a small piece of shrink tubing to seal the gap and haven't lost a blade since. In the picture you can see that the tubing and the blade outlasted the life of the bait. Btw I like the way you make your loops it looks like it would take the tubing better than my hack jobs.
  2. I like a buzzbait and frogs/ toads where I can find pads.
  3. After a kind of miserable april it was nice to finally find some fish up chasing yesterday. Got 22 with most on a spinnerbait including this 4-4
  4. I like 100% deet for my skin. Also I would use permethrin spray on my clothes back when I did canoe/camp trips in maine. Over the winter I bought some fly dope that I'm looking forward to using to ward off black flies in maine.
  5. Wait what? There are other fish besides bass? What the heck for?!?
  6. Just an fyi the 'chu' has been open for a week or so
  7. I have a rule I more or less go by that is: retie after every 3 fish every fish over 3lbs. And every hour even if I don't have a bite.
  8. 40lb. Braid And throw the spinning gear in a wood chipper
  9. Spinnerbait- white Spinnerbait-not white Jig- craw pattern Bladed jig- perch/ bluegill pattern Buzzbait- black
  10. 10 years or 25 it's the same for me Spinnerbait Buzzbait Jig. Also a popper although i rarely use these for largies anymore just smallies.
  11. For single buzzbaits I make (not pour) my own with components from. l.p.o. 3/8oz. Black or chart/ white. For double buzzbaits i use 1/2oz. Buckeye lures double buzz same colors plus white. Also not a fan of the painted blades on these so I swap them out for plain aluminum. And no trailers for no just trailer hooks.
  12. Buzzbaits I'm using a 7' mh/f. For toads [ buzzfrogs] I have a 7'3" h/f.
  13. Enjoying nature is not possible where i fish so I'm definatly out there to catch. However even if I have a bad day I'm still doing what I want to do with my time so while I may be frustrated I'm never upset.
  14. My frog reel currently has 40lb. Kastking super something yellow braid. If your concerned about color you can color It with a sharpie.
  15. Got out for about 9 total hours between Tues. And. Wed. Landed 10 bass with no big ones however I was happy to get my first 3 buzzbait fish yesterday including this guy.
  16. Not just at the time but of all time in my book.
  17. I totally get it. For me it was for simplicity. All 5 I listed had multiple different line ups at some point. I guess I more think about the artist around whom the band's were built. Which of course wasn't the original question so what do I know.?
  18. For me Cream along with blind faith and Derek and the dominos all get lumped together under the Clapton umbrella.
  19. Hendrix Traffic Ccr Floyd Clapton
  20. Went out for a couple hours after work hoping to find them hitting spinnerbaits again but it wasn't happening without the sun. Picked up the jerkbait and boated 3 with the best weighing 3-6.
  21. Got out today for about 6.hrs. hooked up 3 times on a jerkbait but only boated 1 which was o.k. as I didn't want to deal with trebles with numb fingers. Also got 2 on spinnerbaits after the sun came out towards the end with 1 weighing 3-2.
  22. Wow flashback! About 100 years ago [25ish acually] I would buy these smoke shad colored soft jerkbaits from a company called kadco mfg. in port orchard washington. The bass absolutely killed them around here. Had I known that business was gonna go in the tank.i would have bought a 1000 of them. @OCdockskipper thanks for posting about those jerkits I'll have to check them out.
  23. Lol! Well if I have to narrow it down all I can say is it's a heck of alot closer to 6 than a million. I did finally get out for the first time this year and moved the needle a whole 3 clicks closer to the million mark.
