  1. This guy and some of his friends still like them.
  2. Buzzbaits Frogs Toads Punch rig
  3. Buckeye lures 'mop jig' has an all rubber skirt.
  4. Yea just a little ?Got the rest on buzzbait and ploppers nothing on a spinnerbait popper or torpedo. So far thats the only thing theyll hit that isnt a steady retrieve.
  5. A bit of a slow start to my vaca. Smallie hunt. Only eight so far in 7 hrs. With one good one weighing 3-1 on a moss mouse.
  6. Outlet bait has a 4 piece 1/4 oz. War eagle assorment package for $16 and change. Also right now orders over 9.99 ship free.
  7. Jigs and chatters always a trailer. Spinnerbaits never a trailer always a trailer hook.
  8. Ive read about this here and elsewhere and also seen guys doing it on tv but as much as I love throwing buzzbaits I just can't get myself to try this. Maybe because just a skirt works fine for me and I don't see anyone catching more or bigger fish doing this as far as I know. Also because I always use a trailer hook and I'm not sure they would work with a toad.
  9. Nice timing on this thread revival as i just caught my pb 'frog' fish on a snagproof moss mouse. I wouldn't say Im truly finesse frogging as I still throw these without issue on my standard frog setup(7-2 speed demon xh/f,40lb kk braid, 7speed "k"). I have no problem driving home those cheapo hooks with just a flick and of the wrists. Also will add that just like my regular frogs that are trimmed down to just the body I cut off the tail and whiskers of these baits.
  10. As much as I love my buzzbaits I have to go with a spinnerbait.
  11. After yesterdays 3 hour pre-work tour left me wanting more i went right back there after work today hoping the bidding frog bite I left was still on. While i only boated 2 in 3.5 hours they were well worth it as they weighed 3-6 and 6-2 which technically is my biggest frog fish although it was caught on the old moss mouse. She was feisry as all heck made getting a good pic tough.
  12. Ehh, I only like holidays that involve candy anyway?
  13. Liked the wx forecast for this morn. So i got out 6:45 to 9:45 before heading to work. Got 1 on a plopper and 4 on a buzzbait with a 4-14 and a 4-1 about 5 min. Apart. Then closed out the trip with a 3-4 on a frog.
  14. Thanks! grabbed an irod genesis swim/bladed jig rod for 75 bucks
  15. Not sure i got the right blades either. My memory back then when copying was cloudy now it's just a foggy blur. I got size 4 and 3 blades but maybe i needed 5's and 4's or 3's. And I've no clue about the original skirt except that It was white so that's what I'll do.
  16. As best as i can remember this was the 1st spinnerbait I owned 30+ yrs. Ago and the 1st one I tried to copy when I started making my own 20+ yrs. Ago. By coincidence I bought some white Indiana blades this off-season with the intent to make those again but haven't got around to it yet. Also if I remember correctly they were said to best used in cold water.
  17. Got out in the boat today for the first time in a week and a half. Fished about 7-2. Got 15 all on spinnerbaits with a couple good ones weighing 3-4 and 5-6.
  18. Try flattening a splitshot with a hammer
  19. Buzzbait.
  20. Got out today 730 -1. Boated 12 bass 11 on a couple different spinnerbaits and 1 on a buzzbait that was the best of the day at 3-14.
  21. Max for me is about 150 for both based on what ive bought recently although most of my stuff was between 50-100.
  22. I'm not a crankbait guy either but have had some luck with bps egg shallow cranks.
  23. I've got 8 setups but could get by with probably half that. Which ones would depend on the time of year.
