  1. Those are the same heads/ blades I use for my single buzzbaits, you won't have any trouble keeping it on the surface. Also I wouldn't bother with the beads IMO they're useless weed catchers. I don't put them on baits I make and I remove them from ones I buy. I instead would buy extra blades as I tend to wear out alot during the year (I went thru 5 blades on 1 bait this past year). As for the plastic blades I'm not a fan. For the double arm baits you have to use the 2 prop aluminum as you need both clockwise and counterclockwise which aren't made in plastic. Would add that while their double arm baits are good I don't like the thin wire they use and prefer commercially a made one better. Finally your skirt choice should be fine. I've been using the same black/ redflake color for over 20 years.
  2. Lmb. 6lbs 2oz. Smb. 3lbs 1oz. Both on the same white snagproof moss mouse.
  3. I've used the uni knot as long as I've been using braid with the doubled line uni for my punch rigs.
  4. Non-standard sizing was the initial deciding factor for me. Also I'd add that aside from this thread the only place if ever seen them was advertised on the kinda lame 'fishing university' t.v. show (Sorry Charlie). I would add that my now former co-worker did get the jig box this past season and i got a chance handle it and was impressed with it so I wouldn't rule out my buying these in the future.
  5. As for a bait I've given a few shots and never caught one that would be a lizard. Also, While not a total fail bait i did catch my 1st fish on a lipless crank in about a dozen years a couple weeks ago.
  6. Spring: Jig Spinnerbait Buzzbait Bladed jig Spinnerbait or shallow crankbait Summer: Buzzbait Frog Toad Punch rig Buzzbait or Spinnerbait Fall: Buzzbait Spinnerbait Bladed jig Spinnerbait Spinnerbait Winter:? Shovel Snow brush Ice scraper Roof rake Ice melt
  7. While i haven't exactly lit them up lately (or this year really) just about every bass I've caught the last 6-7 weeks were on a spinnerbait with a single size 7 colorado blade.Just something to think about.
  8. Winter? Usually I'm either resting in anticipating shoveling, shoveling or recuperating from shoveling. And in between all that work. And If not then I'll throw together some spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and skirts.
  9. Definitely summer for me. July thru mid Sept. Not only does the heat and thick weeds keep people off the water but as @papajoe222 said in a word 'predictable'. The bass will either be on the Weed edge chasing or buried up waiting for a meal.to come to them which means I can hit the water fairly confident I can get them on a buzzbait ,frog,or punch rig.
  10. Yea every so often it seems they mark stuff down to almost nothing just to move it.
  11. Outlet bait has zakos for 4.99.
  12. Click menu (top left) then "tools" then " glossary" you'll find what you're looking for?
  13. @A-Jay no doubt this year was a struggle more often than not. Many days where I looked down and saw the skunk sitting in the front of my boat snickering at me. Was able to fend him off all but once, however, i cant even begin to count the 1 or 2 dink days I eeked out.
  14. Power junk force feeder. Id rather flame out pounding up shallow with a buzzbait or spinnerbait than diddle a turd on a fairy wand as it much more suits my 'fishing personality'.
  15. Was bummed that I couldn't be out in the boat during this stretch of nice weather as I'm still waiting for my truck to get out of the shop after hitting a deer last week. But stopped to take a few casts before work today managed 2 on a Spinnerbait with this one weighing 3-11.
  16. Location Timing Presentation Color Type
  17. I have two '8s' one on my 7-6 h/xf punching rod with 30lb.832 and one on my 7-5 h/f heavy+1 rod with 40 lb. Kk braid which i use for when i want a second frog or punch rig for the day. I'll add that i have 7's on my jig and frog rod however if I ever want/need to replace these I would choose between 7 or 8 based on the best deal i could find.
  18. Spinnerbait for me. Catch them on one from late march til mid November most years.
  19. Yes i do. 1/4 and 1/2 oz. Are what I use most with 1/4 more often being my starting point
  20. X2 on grip pins for me . And yes I do.
  21. Man, was looking forward to tomorrow and next week with temps in the 60s.and 70s and then driving home from work today I hit a deer. Now the trucks going in the shop?
  22. While I've never used deep cup blades for the front blade the only times I've had this problem is when I wasn't paying attention and put the blade on upside down. The cupped side should face the wire.
  23. Back in '93 I bought a 1032 flat bottom for $375 new. Finally replaced it this year. Up here my way (MA) there's a million small lakes, pot holes and mill ponds to fish out of one of these. Never had the desire to own, insure, or maintain a trailered boat. And i feel my/our money was better spent on a vaca. house in Maine. Here's a drone pic my buddy shot of me back In July.
