  2. Sunny with clear water, white /double nickle willow.sunny stained going with gold willow chart./white skirt cloudy i go to my copper colorados.
  3. I bought one when they first came out. dont remember catching anything on it or what happened to it.probably lost to a tree or pickeral.
  4. Driving home from maine a few weeks ago my now cracked windshield became the bug when a walmart 18 wheeler blew a tire 4 car lengths ahead of me and sprayed debris across 95 south. ?
  5. Got out today 8-3. Long slow day. banged my head against the wall with a punch rig most of the day with only 4 bass to show. kinda paid off in the end as the last of the four weighed 5-2.
  6. Punch rig , spinnerbait and buzzbait for the most part.
  7. If the weather lines up with what i want to do where i want to do it. Then i hit the water with a good feeling. Although it doesnt always work out the way i want.
  8. I'd say im both. I usually take 8-10 rods out with me most of which have 'designated purpose', however i have 1 that is my 'do-all' rig which might have a second spinnerbait or buzzbait on if I'm trying to figure out which one might produce that day. I also have a rod thats my 'heavy+1' rod that i carry if i want a 2nd frog or punch setup. Today i was al in on punching so i also had my frog rod set up as a 3rd punch rig.
  9. Had a 3 week stretch back in late May where i couldnt get out in the boat. Although i i got some bank fishing in i was still quite cranky counting the days.
  10. @TnRiver46 is 100% correct. Its all timing and technique. In the old days we learned that a buzzbait should ' hit the water running'. Lifting the rod tip and reeling just before it lands should be one motion. Throw one enough [particularly after dark] and you should be able to do it with your eyes closed just by the sound of your spool slowing down.
  11. Appreciate the kind words @LrgmouthShad but im really just a puddle jumpin' shallow water chunk and grind hack who happens to hit one on the head every now and then. Theres many more talented and accomplished fishermen on this site than me.
  12. Got out today about 1-5. High fast water and wind gusts to 20+ made for a tough day but managed to put 6 in the boat; 2 on a Spinnerbait and 4 on a tx.Rig yum wooly bug with 1 of those the best of the day at 3-11.
  13. Got out today for a few hours. Boated 6 bass, 2 dinks on a Spinnerbait and 4 on a punch rig double wide beaver with 2 of those decent that weighed 4-12 and 3-6.
  14. I like a 6x speed reel for all purpose I have a rod that is my"do all" set up and it has a 6 and ive done about everything with it without issue; spinner and buzbaits, squarebils ,tx.rigs ,jig, toads topwaters, even jerkbaits.
  15. I would definitely try a trailer hook. I get this alot with buzzbaits in the spring where they swat at it with their mouths closed and i end up with them hooked under the jaw on the trailer hook.
  16. Double wide beaver. Its the lifeblood of my punch setup.
  17. Another Maine smallie. 3-8 on a spinnerbait.
  18. I just recently placed an order on the 9th and it was delivered on the 13th. And like most places sign up for their email and they'll send you a code for 15% off.
  19. Been a long 11 months since i dropped the boat in Maine to chase some smallies. Got out today from 11:30 - 5:30 boated 12, 2 on a buzzbait, 4 on a popper and 6 on a R2S big mistake including the biggest that was 3-1.
  20. Got out today from 8-12:30. Got 5 decent 2+ lb'ers punching and 1 lone wolf on a choppo that weighed 4-4. One side note; my last fish came when I was heading in and decided to finally play around with the big bite baits big mamma. I got 3 hits on it finally landing the 3rd after letting it run a bit. It weighed 2-4. Not a pig but gives me some hope that i cant throw it with some confidence. Anyway the 4-4.
  21. Real early and real late in the season it's a Spinnerbait, but from mid April until about the end of Oct. It's a buzzbait.
  22. Got out today from 730- 1230. Got 2 early on on topwater ,popper and a choppo then spent the rest of the day punching. Got 4 more on the double wide beaver with the best weighing 5-1.
  23. Oh yea . Get a few pretty much every time out. I just get too lazy with my casting mechanics especially when i get tired and hot during the summer.
  24. Ive got dedicated rigs for- spinnerbait, buzzbait, jig, frog, toad, punching and bladed jigs. However the only two that are rigged and ready all year are the spinner and buzzbait rods. With the exception of the punch rod all are 'expected' to do other things as needed or don't come out until they're needed.
