  1. stick with the palomar.i have not had one fail in 20 years of using it.i glue the tag end of braid with super glue to stop it from fraying.some guys use a special burning tool to singe it together.other guys just leave it.
  2. "In 1997, Innovative Textiles introduced PowerPro microfilament braided line made with Spectra fiber."
  3. i haven't had to cut a backlash out with braid in over 15 years.you are definately doing something wrong.and i've removed some really horrendous backlashes.
  4. for that money a falcon bucoo is unbeatable.it is lighter than any of the others.it has a five year warranty.they are made in usa and they are really nice sensitive rods.i am in the process of changing all my rods to falcon.
  5. your spool tension should not let the spool have play.you might need to service your reel.or if you just did you might have used wrong lube or to much.
  6. throw out the powerpro and get powerpro super slick or sufix 832.you'll get a lot less noise.braid is easier to untangle a backlash.jam your thumb on the spool and rell the line in.this flips the loops.then release the thumb bar and pul out the backlash.any reel r rod that gets damaged by braid is garbage.
  7. some years you just don't do as well.my buddy fishes tournaments and did well for years.this year he sucks.sometimes that's just the way it goes.
  8. i've had graphite frame spinning reels snap the neck like that.that is why i do not tell anybody to buy a pflueger president or any other composite/graphite/zion or any other non magnesium or aluminum framed reel no matter who makes it.
  9. most of the noise is the braid on the level wind.people say recoil guides make the most noise but I find them to make the least.
  10. I use braid with no leader for everything.50 lb /12 suffix 832 on baitasters.i will admit I am trying 8 lb flouro on a spinning rod but that may change.
  11. yes it is a mono.mono means single filament or line.it can be made of two or more polymers.
  12. it's garbage.no abrasion resistance what so ever.backlashes to easy.get sufix 832 or powerpro super slick.
  13. 50 lb suffix 832.i never .use leaders even with topwater. you set the hook and reel as fast as you can and get them out of the weeds.if you play easy they will win.
  14. regular powerpro is rough, noisey, digs in and isoutdated.powerpro super slick solves all those issues.sufix 832 is also a great line.i prefer 832 because it sinks and I feel it is more abrasion resistant than other braids.
  15. no it's not to big.pros use bigger spinning reels because bigger spools manage line better.
  16. flouro has nothing to do with it.it's whose bait gets in front of a biting fish and has the right action.
  17. I have never had any issues with abu Garcia reels.
  18. never use a leader.last night I outfished my buddy who uses a flouro leader 7 to 1.put your bait in front of a biting fish.also select the bait they want.
  19. how much slack are we talking?i have never had this issue.are you guys talking big huge wind blown bows in your line?i've felt fish hit my wacky rig even with wind blown bows in my sufix 832.i don't get it.
