  4. 7/8/09 lp kicks my butt on whaley -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- lp and i fished whaley today and he kicked my butt 20 to 5.he's a great fisherman so i'm not ashamed.there was a tournament going and from the guys we talked to he would have beaten all of them also. the fish on whaley have gotten bigger lately as i would say we caught quite a few 2 lbs and up with the biggest being 2 3/4.weeds were way down on the lake so maybe it is because of the weather because a few lakes are having the same issue. the wacky rigged senko ruled the day.i caught one on a spinnerbait and one on a lipless rapala clack and rap.a few were caught on brewers grubs by both of us. i had a great time out with leigh.every time i go i'm amazed at how he manages to find fish one way or another.i've found myself using spinning rods a lot more because of his influence with the wacky rig and brewers grub.i think i will go out and buy a bunch of the brewers grubs.here's a few pictures from our outing.my wife says she wants to come with us next time.i think we would have to clean up our subject matter!!!ROFLMAO!!!: fishing2:
  5. johnny morris signature series.
  6. sounds like what i have been saying!!!
  7. and she should have counted because it was not intentional.in my eyes she is the world record.all others are pretenders.
  8. 50 to 65 lb braid.
  9. i caught a rainbow trout on a wacky rig senko on 20 lb fireline braid yesterday.trout are far more gunshy than bass.that should answer that question.save yourself a lot of money and go straight to fireline braid.
  10. i love that handle.never had any problem with it.i never felt any play when fishing.
  11. out of those 2 i would take the avid.or better yet get a johnny morris signature series.
  12. the 3 size breaks at 30 psi.i tried it!!!it is small enough to embed in a plastic trick worm.if you use a hook like these http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_103724_100010002_100000000_100010000_100-10-2 you can t rig and hide the snap.it also sets the hook back furthur which i think works great.
  13. your just friggin old!!!! ;D
  14. BERKLEY crosslock snaps are the best. http://www.***.com/descpage-BCLSS.html
  15. you do not need a bill dance set with braid and good hooks.you do need a firm hookset.i've seen many a rod explode from gorilla sets with braid.there is no need to set that hard.you are not trying to overcome 10 feet of line stretch.setting that hard with braid will also open bigger holes where the hook went in and you may lose fish due to this.
  16. alternating black and green breaks up the solid line.
  17. if using treble hooked lures you want less drag pressure say around 3-4 lbs and yes it will slip on a hookset.if using t rigs or jigs you want more drag pressure say around 8 lbs with your rod.make sure you used electrical tape or mono for backing otherwise the line will slip on the spool and you will think your drag is slipping.
  18. johnny morris signature series rods.imho they are as good as any rod made.they also have titanium frame fuji sic guides which are the best guides made.they also have the best reel seats.
  19. look at what i started!!!thanks guys!!!i hope all you braid users give it a shot and come into the modern world.it is the best braid out there.
