I need help with my local lake
I have the best results when I wacky rig a senko. The other 2 get Texas rigged but I don't peg the weight.

breaking in a new reel
greased bearings woud shorten the cast and prevent backlash

breaking in a new reel
What kind of line ? New line can do that.

Got this on Junbug Senko
Why not ? Smallies love senkos . They really like chartreuse a lot.

Does anyone have a Lew's Mach Ned rod?
do you mean a Lews mach 2 ned rig spinning rod ? ive never used that exact rod but they have a decent reputation for that series. i fish neds on a baitcaster 6-6 medium fast with 8 lb mono.neds catch big fish also. just because its a small bait doesnt mean 5 lbers wont hit it. the medium action i fee gives e enough backbone to get them in without bending the hook. i use the zman power ned jighead.

I need help with my local lake
Typical post spawn bass behavior. Senko and Ned rig are good baits to try. Fish them SLOW. Or fish at the first drop off for recovered females. We are post spawn here in southern NY. I did manage 12 bass yesterday but they were all scattered.traveled like 7 miles to do it.my best bait was a wacky rigged senko in pink.

No bites?
you might want to try getting up at 4a.m. and fish cooler water or try night fishing.

In your opinion
Yes. Slight changes . basically the same.

Bass Pro Qualifier reels any good?
I fish 1/10 oz Ned rig with a small trd on 8lb Sufix Advance Mono with no issues with a Tournament Pro.

One fishing line... FOREVER
yeah but if it was frayed you would retie . youre smarter than that !!!!

Bass Pro Qualifier reels any good?
even though they are all doyo they are made to different specs for different brands.for whatever reason the Lews seem to cast furthur.better bearings and lighter spools ? at 139 the tournament pro cant be beat. the externally adustable centrifugal brakes are awesome. the carbon fiber handle is nice. the 20 carbon drag is smooth and strong. not that bps reels arent good. all the ones i have owned were good im just a Lews fan now.

One fishing line... FOREVER
a lot of fisherman dont check their line and dont retie enough. then when they loose fish they blame the line. i find it amazing how some people can say a line is abrasion resistant and some say the same line isnt. id be willing to bet most guys who have issues are to lazy to retie.

Bass Pro Qualifier reels any good?
totally disagree. good reel but i think you should look at the Lews tournament Pro at sportsmans outfitters for $139.

Gonna give braid a try
never put anything under 50 lb braid on a baitcaster.
-
Gonna give braid a try
tuf line domin8 or sufix 832 in 20 lb for spinning

In your opinion
i would get a BPS PATRIOT ROD. Wynn grips fuji sic guides 10 year free replacement warranty. light and sensative.

In your opinion
Not alconite anymore. They are plain aluminum oxide. First ones were made with alconite. Aluminum oxide is substandard at this price point.
-
In your opinion
Avid x has substandard guides for a rod of that price.
-
What is your cut off point/price on rods and reels?
You can delete them.
-
One fishing line... FOREVER
Thats because it's the best mono made and yes it has a ton less stretch.
-
What is your cut off point/price on rods and reels?
500.
-
Line for jigs
So solve all your issues and try Sufix Advance Mono. It's a COPOLYMER with a lot less stretch and excellent abrasion resistance. Handles really well on casting gear.Comes in clear and green.

Any hidden online gems can you recommend?
Doesn't bother me as long as they catch fish. The reels and rods aren't blems from what I've seen.

Any hidden online gems can you recommend?
no

Who still uses nothing but mono?
Regular powerpro at one time was the best braid. Now it's so outdated it's not funny. Why people would use it is beyond me.
