  1. Love the combat grips.
  2. Send it to Lews maybe you'll get a new one.
  3. Wow !!! You can't beat that !!!
  4. Yes it's the first version. A friend of mine gave it to me. It's ok but I never would have bought one. It is fairly smooth but The spool button feels a little clunky to me.The cheapest ones I've bought are the 99 $ lfs which is a great reel at That price point. I also have Tournament Pro reels which are awesome.
  5. Hats off to Lews customer service. They sent me some parts for a Lews Carbonfire baitcaster at no charge. It took a few emails during this covid garbage but I'm happy. I was all set to buy them. Lew's forever.
  6. That is the best advice ever. If you limit yourself time wise you might not be in a time period when they will bite. Time on the water is paramount. I disagree with bass not being hard to catch. It depends. If they have lockjaw it doesn't matter what you do they will not bite.
  7. Smaller reels have smaller diameter spools. They are rated for line they perform best with. As pound test goes up so should spool diameter. It makes for less line issues if using mono or flourocarbon lines.
  8. Some of us don't see it as a downgrade.
  9. Your welcome. I think it casts awesome on a spinning reel.
  10. Cool. Wasn't really trying to beat the horse. Sorry didn't mean to offend you.
  11. Wrong . Tournament Pro made in Korea.
  12. Magnesium and carbon frames like the Lews you are speaking transmit more vibration. You should try a tournament pro.you can get for 139 at sportsmans outfitters. List is 199. Mine outcasts all my friends reels. You might be pleasantly surprised.
  13. What a pile of misinformation in this post. First of all if you spend twice as much for a reel I would expect it to be twice as good. It's not a fair comparison. That said I'll put my Lews tournament pro up against any reel in casting distance. It also casts light baits like a 1/10 oz redhead with a trd on it with no issues.I would try any reel from the tournament pro on up since ur obviously into better gear.
  14. As far as I know Falcon owns their own factories. I could be wrong but I don't think so. As far as I know they manufacture their own blanks.
  15. Who makes rods in Mexico. LOL !!!
  16. We were also told they weren't going to. Make them anymore.
  17. Don't know. Most rods are made there anyway. I would prefer made in USA.
  18. Here ya go. Merry Christmas !!! Per Jason Christe on Facebook.
  19. Whose sic guide ? Doubt it's Fuji. I have been fishing Fuji sic guides for years and have NEVER had a failure.
  20. I chose a bps Patriot rod over the avid x. The avid x has cheap guides the bps has Fuji sic. The bps has a ten year warranty. To me the bps felt better balanced and lighter. If you're sold on St Croix I'd get the regular avid first.
