Could You Beat Kvd 1 Vs 1 If All He Could Use Is A Cheap Spincaster?
On my home lake, the competitor in me says I've got a shot. Last february I caught 5 fish that went 42 pounds.... but the realist in me says the chances are highly unlikely.

Swimbait stuff. Minus a box of hudds which now rest in a watery grave in the depths of an east Texas reservoir

Looking forward to 2016 anyone?
I'm stoked for 16. Can't wait for the days to start getting longer and the water to start warming up. I've already got a d.d. this year. My next goal is a teen.

The starters. Rods vary a little. But one thing remains the same

Please delete thread, thanks.
I've experimented with swimbait rods for a while. And it took a while before I found a set up I was truly happy with for 6-8oz baits. Like Tom said alot of rods maybe rated for 8,even 10 ounce baits. But are over loaded with a 6.5 oz bait. Un like others I don't use the fore grip. My last rod a custom was made with out one, plus I think the look way better without it.

what is the best fishing knot?
I looked up the 16/20 I've been tying that knot for a few years with good success same knot except doubled , end up cuting 3 tag ends. I've never known the name. I guess it's a double 16/20.

Carolina Rigs...plastic Beads or Glass? 1 or 2 beads?
Not me. Been experimenting with braid mainline. Paired with 873 nrx. And it's a beautiful combination. I can no longer outcast my hook set

Where do you need to improve ?
Everything... but I need to get better at covering more water. And power fishing. Hitting high percentage areas and moving on.

Trolling motor decision
You gonna sell the fortrex?

Elites and electric steer trolling motors
Ya pretty much all of those options. Pretty much not a cable steer i.e. a fortrex which had non of those capabilities. Guys I've talked to either like them or hate them. I fish alot of flooded timber and like how responsive the cable steer is. I've heard the electric steer is slow.

Are any of the elites using. The electric steer t.m.'s?

Alternatives To Mushroom Jig For Ned Rig?
Swing head or small biffle head works good with a cream scounger worm. Floats up and flutters off the bottom beautifully. Caught many fish allready this year including a d.d.

Reel Drag per technique
If I fished lakes with open water I'd use lighter line and set drag loose. But I don't all of my drags are locked down. Most of my rigs are 17 to 20 pound line. Alot of people here at fork say 20 is the minimum. Here you have to turn a fish and keep it comming or you risk getting wrapped in a tree and broke off. All this is simply dictated by my home waters

Rate your fishing year =2015

Bass fishing clues/tips
I do it regularly. I'll keep a limit of short buck bass everytime especially when the water is cold. I primarily fish lakes with a slot. That's what the slot was designed for.

How would you approach this lake...
Just get out there and start fishing bro. You'll figure it out !

Why I am a better ________ angler than you are!
Maybe. But catching large fish from shore can also be easier in my opinion. Because you have stealth on your side. No electronics clicking no trolling motor buzzing. But from a covering water stand point or having to fish elbow to elbow with others really makes things difficult

Rank the most nutritional forage for bass
Really just out of curiosity. I enjoy learning about the eco system I think it makes me a better angler. There are so many variables to all the whys and hows of trophy sized bass. But a big piece of the puzzle is forage. I wonder if some forage are more less empty calories with little protien. Crawfish may be a staple, but I would think it takes alot of energy to digest that tough shell for what small amount of meat is in the claws and tail. What if california had no trout? Would they still pump out the same amount t of giants on the sole fact that the growing season is almost ideal? Given there were enough other baitfish to fill the void. Carolinas have trout but no where near the trophies like cali. Bottom line bass are stupid. Very instinctive, but not smart, they eat whatever is easy, just like everything else in the animal kingdom.
