I've had great luck in summer using a baby brush hog on a c rig in the northeast. dragged slowly on the bottom. Green/natural colors. Fish it near a drop off if possible
I like roster tails, Kastmasters and mepps. No bigger that 1/8 oz. use the 1/16 if you can cast it far enough. As far as color is concerned I go white, black or chartreuse.
Heading up to newfound lake for my annual vacation. I have a small boat but it's not big enough to traverse the entire lake. Staying on the Bristol side of the lake so I usually target the islands in the area. Anyone have any fishing reports?
If you buy a 1 piece over 7 ft be careful when carrying it in and out of house, through doors, etc. It took me a while to get use to...almost broke a tip once or twice. But I agree that 1 piece rods are better overall. Just tougher to store and move.
