1/4 oz. Red Eye Shad
Fish them in grass/weed areas. Let them sink into the grass and then rip them out. And repeat. Bass will crush it on the fall.

Trebles that snag wood less
Been doing this for a long time. Take wire cutters. Cut off the barb etc on the front hook that hangs the lowest of the 3 so you now have only 2 hooks instead of 3. It makes a big difference.

Maine lake recommendations
I had an old friend who had a place on lake cobbosseeconttee. Ive never fished it but he would swear it's the best lake in New England. He caught a couple 9 lb lgmouth bass from there in his time. Smallmouth fishing is great also. If you need a place to stay or want to read a great/inspiring article check this out. https://www.centralmaine.com/2017/10/15/-mills-now-running-lakeside-motel-cabins-in-east-winthrop-with-family-friends/

I thought the endurance line was coming back? I could be wrong but I thought I read it somewhere. I'm surprised the max line doesn't get the same love. I had an endurance that broke and Powell replaced it with the max. It was a light spinning rod. I really like it and the max had an improved reel seat vs the endurance. Maybe theres a bigger difference in the heavier models??

Best swimbaits for beginners
What rod/reel do you plan on using to throw these swimbaits? Many great recommendations but most of those are in the 2+oz range. So you will heavy gear to use them.

6'8" vs 6'10" jerkbait rod
I would go with shorter, stouter rod for jerkbaits without a doubt. Especially if you do a lot of bank fishing. Last thing you want to do is whack the tip on the bank/rock and it's easier to cast. Maybe you are 6' 6" tall then the 6' 10" rod might not be a problem! I'm 6' 2" and I use a 6' 6" gloomis. 3/4 oz. I think it's great as I do a lot of bank fishing also.

april fishing in florida
Try the sky way bridge pier. One of the biggest fishing piers in the country and a chance to catch a lot of different types of fish. Good luck!!!

How about motley crew or ozzy? Shout at the devil and diary of a madman are my favorites. Had to add my 2 cents. We are currently getting 2 feet of snow up north today.

Cabelas or Bass Pro Shop?
I only go to bps once a year and that is during the spring fishing classic which just ended in NH. You can get a good deal on rods and reels by taking advantage of the trade in and by using the bass pro credit card. As for buying tackle good luck. As mentioned they never have the size or color I'm looking for. Most of their fishing gear is bps brand or strike king. I don't have a cabelas close enough to visit often but I want to buy one of their coolers. I hear great things and they go on sale often. Also. Don't buy a boat/kayak from either one. So many other places to go and get a better deal.

closed loop spinner baits.
Many easy options to make it a closed eye but I HIGHLY recommend the split ring option. That's been hands down the best option for me. As mentioned above you can wrap braid and then cover with super glue, use a split ring, use small elastics (the right size is tough to find and they don't last long) or wrap an old bread tie.

What's with Cabela's?
bps is a joke. Has been for a while. They have very limited selection of any brands besides rapala, Strike king. Reel selection is good but the rod selection is terrible. Cabelas had a better lure selection but it looks like that has changed. Bps/cabelas will Be closing a bunch of stores very soon.
