  1. Looking to upgrade my deep cranking reel. Looking to spend under $250. Most of my reels are Shimano or diawa but not ruling out any brands. Been eyeing the curado 150 dc and the tatula elite. I also saw the bantam on a Japanese website for $265! Looking for casting distance and limited backlash. What are you guys using???
  2. My feedback would be. Match the power to the size lures your are using. Fast tip for single hook lures, moderate for lures with trebles. I go light when fishing plastics. ML with a fast tip and I use XF with 6’6” length for jerks. For overall length of my rods I like 6’8” -7’ 1”. Good luck!
  3. Saw this today. How do people like these???
  4. You can keep a fish under 73”. Giants open back up dec 1. If we hook a giant we will catch. Tag. Release.
  5. Dunks. Any chance you are heading out for tuna tomorrow. I’m heading out. Waiting on info right now. We launch from either Sesuit or bass river.
  6. I have 2 of these and they are amazing. $150. I have 6 Stradics and I’m a huge Shimano guy and I would buy this over a Stradic all day. https://fishing.asian-portal.shop/blog/recommend-daiwa-spinning-reel-em-ms/ if anyone else has one please chime in.
  7. I wouldn’t go with styrofoam. And I’d go smaller. 120qt is huge!! whatever you do I suggest getting freezer packs. Or you can freeze 6 small water bottles and put them in there with the ice. They will make the ice last longer. And drain the water every day https://www.amazon.com/Pack-Large-Cooler-Freeze-Packs/dp/B00V9ITMYC/ref=asc_df_B00V9ITMYC/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=216515106215&hvpos=1o8&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16929794816525829909&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9002012&hvtargid=pla-350277195109&psc=1

Guys. I received these baits on Wednesday. These baits are amazing!!! They absolutely kick ass. I bought a bunch at the start of the season and the bass love them! Smallies. Largemouths and also pike/pickerel. I placed another big order as you can see because my friends had to have them also!!! I wouldn’t share mine!! Johns amazing to work with. He can make anything you want. Keeps you in the loop during the process and goes the extra mile on colors, size, running depth, etc. he also made me some big (6 inch) baits that big largemouth love. thanks again John! 4lb smallie caught on my first day fishing the perch squarebill on my annual Maine trip to lake cobbessee.
  9. Zbone is $399 right now. Conquest is $650 on TW. That would make the decision easy for me.
  10. Pond king. Kistler is having fall clearance right now (Zbone for $399) and I think if you sign up for mailing list you can get an additional 10% off. I was was a gloomis guy but I’ve had issues with their mid line rods: cork breaking, reel seat issues, guides cracking. so I moved to kistler as I really like the helium.
  11. Did the rod break when you were trying to free a snag on the bottom? What strength rod? Using 65lb braid for bass is crazy.
  12. Check out kistler. The helium is on sale for $220. Retail is $300. Great rods. Super light and sensitive. Made in the USA! I have many brands of rods: Gloomis, mega bass. Dobyn’s. St croix and I think they the best bang for the buck
  13. When taking my kids fishing I use either a live craw or a crawler on a mepps hook with a small Colorado blade. For both I put a split shot about 18 inches above hook. Both work great but the craw does better most of the time up here in the northeast. I always rip off one of the craws claws.
  14. I got a predator and love it. Couple things to think about : Wheels - I got the ctug after breaking a couple cheap set of wheels. Ctug has been great. You get what you pay for transducer mount - I got the Scotty transducer arm that hangs over the side. It works for me. Crate - I got a crate off of Amazon that’s longer than a regular milk crate. And you can get pockets that Velcro on the sides for extra storage. Bazooka tube/flag - I fly an orange flag in the big lakes that have heavy boat traffic on the weekends. It only takes one idiot to run you over. And there’s a lot out there
  15. Check out the kistler klx. They are $270 but they are always having sales up to 25% so that will get down to $200. Sign up for their mailing list to get the notifications.
  16. I just ordered a new finesse set up and I can’t wait to use it!! I throw a lot of Ned rigs and light plastics. daiwa em-ms jdm spinning reel -$150. I love these reels. They are amazing for the price and that’s coming from a Shimano guy. Kistler helium ml rod that I got at the recent sale for $180 (40% off as me and a couple friends ordered 3 rods). Huge kistler fan and they always have sales.....sign up for their mailing list and you will see!!!
  17. Nice fish!! Was it caught on golden pond??
  18. Thanks @massyak85 Can you share the address?
  19. Hey all. I just started a new job and I’m close to the Charles river where 95 and the pike intersect. Can anyone tell me where I could launch a kayak/park my truck (no trailer)? And which direction to go?? Is stony brook basin worth a shot? Thanks
  20. I’m not a hater on the performance of the e6x but between my fishing group all of us have had issues with the cork splitting, reel seat sucking or loosening, etc. We ran into the same issues with the gl2 and gl3. Our consensus is if you buy gloomis go big (glx or nxt) or buy kistler!!!
  21. I’d get a kistker. Sign up for their newsletter and wait for a sale. I really love mine and can’t wait for a reason to buy another. While the glx is a great rod they are pricey and don’t get the e6x. I’ve had trouble with durability, cork falling apart.
  22. Je. You are correct. Tuna is going for ~$2 a lb. and last weekend the tuna brokers shut down around cape cod due to too many crappy/non fatty fish. My buddy caught a nice fish and just had a great sushi party. Don’t believe the prices on wicked tuna!!! But I’ll tell ya bluefin on light tackle is the best fishing In the world! Call coastal charter sport fishing and book a trip....it will be your best day of fishing in your life. Tell capt Dom that DR sent ya!!
  23. If you fish the ned. Use the nedlockz hook, use light line and dont set the hook like you’re using 40lb braid. Ned rig hooks are designed for finesse presentation.
  24. I was just over at newfound lake last week and the lure that produced the best was tiny jigs with small trailers. Zman micro jig with the zman tickler crushed it. Even caught me a big rainbow. Also caught fish on tubes, small whopper plopper, Tiny torpedo and Crig with baby brush hog
