  1. That’s a good deal!! Anyone know how the sizes run? Big or small
  2. I was in the same predicament…..go for the Zbone for the extra $20 all day!!!!
  3. Has anyone tried the iron decoy spoons?? Not a bass lure I’d reach for first but have any trout/walleye/salmon guys ever fished them?? the bait monkey wants to buy 10 of them!
  4. Been there a bunch. Opening day is this weekend. Heard they cut back in parking and possibly use of live bait. Follow wachusett fishing on Facebook. They will provide updates. Kastmaster fished slow on the bottom works well. I catch most of my early Lakers closer to shore early season
  5. When I take the kids out I rig up a dillie (small crawler) on an eagle claw or Mepps hook that has a small Colorado blade. Put a split shot about 18 inches away from hook and drift. Smallies love them.
  6. Is the b stick deal on the st croix site?
  7. Don’t talk to strangers and NEVER click on a random link.
  8. Don’t go back to the Malden creek (river) unless you’re fishing for carp. I grew up close to there. You will catch more fish in any pond in that area. If you got a kayak try the upper mystic, horn or spy.
  9. Onmia had them 30% off with code marchsv. If it doesn’t work email them and ask them if they will honor the code. They usually do.
  10. Email them if the code doesn’t work. I had the same issue with the tatula code last week. I emailed them and they got back to me in a couple days and they sent me a new code. Great customer service!!!
  11. I love the brush hawgs. And Ive got enough to last me a couple years. Don’t tell me the brush craws are better. the bait monkey will come calling
  12. Per the latest sale thread. Onmia has the tatula sv on sale (30% off) with marchsv code. And you get a huk hoodie. Just saying?
  13. I would go. Glass + stx as my cranking rod. I like a lower gear ratio for that. vengance + slx. I’d use that for small jigs. I like a faster retrieve and a fast tip for that. The last set up I’d throw chatterbaits just my opinion. Good luck!
  14. The code says not available when I check out!
  15. I think masaccio is the bait monkey. Getting the thread going after 4 years. Calling the monkey the coolest….?. I’m calling scooby doo and shaggy to investigate further
  16. Yes. They work. I don’t know why but they do.
  17. I started with a similar kayak to the $400 one you are looking at. I used it for one season and sold it. I like to fish long days and big lakes and the salt in New England so I saved me money and bought a pedal predator. Got a decent deal at the boat show , $400 off and a free healix 5. Best purchase Ive made. the predator is comfortable and sturdy and I can stand in it. Lots of other great kayaks out there. The pedals/foot drive is a game changer
  18. Don’t do it!!! That seat will give you spina bifida. A good seat is very very very important no matter how old you are. I’d highly suggest saving a few more bucks and buying something in the $800 range like the olde town mentioned above. go to a shop and take a few for a test drive and you’ll see what I mean. Good luck!! I love my kayak.
  19. I wear surgical gloves. Waterproof, super cheap, you don’t lose any feel and they maintain your body heat. Only bad part is they do rip easily. Get the largest size possible to limit the ripping.
  20. Nope. By nope. I mean I wouldn’t do it. you would most likely have issues with any chop in the water. But that’s my opinion.
  21. Try the wachusett res. Lake trout. Smallies and salmon. Oh my! If you need info pm me.
  22. My reels are only shimano or diawa. Other brands don’t measure up in my opinion…..but I have all types of rods.
  23. Ive got a small bed truck and a 13’ predator and All I use is 2 good/heavy duty ratchet straps and a red flag for the end that is sticking out. I use a small red towel that clips on the back of my kayak. Bed extender is not needed IMO. I’d suggest having an extra strap in your truck at all times though.
