  1. ive got a bunch of kistlers and I really like them. Couple helium’s and klx. They are super light and sensitive. I bought them 4 or so years ago. Since then the price has almost doubled and in my opinion they have priced themselves out. At that price point there are much better rods out there. Helium is now close to $400 (depending on sale). They love to say made in America but the blanks are made 6000 miles from Texas.
  2. What action rod are you using? Extra fast might be too stiff for a lip less.
  3. Love the jika rig…..hate the Tokyo rig.
  4. Looking to fish down in Plymouth at the end of the week. Haven’t fished there before. Thinking either big sandy, great herring or long pond. Any suggestions on which one to hit? im fishing from a kayak thanks!
  5. Mann’s augertail worm in purple caught me a lot of fish in the early 80’s!!!
  6. Go to Maine. Lakeside lodge in Winthrop on Lake cobbosseecontee. Lots of other great bodies of water to fish
  7. You want a 2500 or 3000 depending on the lb test you are using and how much line you want on the reel. I’d go with a 2500 and use 10lb test. No need to go bigger IMO.
  8. if you ask How big do you think this fish is... multiply the weight you think it is by .6. You think it’s 5lb but it’s really 3
  9. Mentos and coke works better.
  10. Should have called Saul
  11. I guess you “love that dirty water”. If you want stripers, fish as close to the locks as possible, near museum of science. But I’ve actually had more success fishing near the Charleston bridge or behind the hockey rink from shore when the pump is running. if you want lg mouth go up river. I suggest launching near Waltham.
  12. How much ? do you want to spend is the question??? And what lures do want to throw??
  13. Get a diawa jdm reel. I’m a shimano fan boy but I bought a couple jdm diawa models last year and I like them better than my Stradics and they were slightly cheaper. Check digitaka, Asian fishing portal. Search this site for other jdm website’s
  14. I have a couple original endurance rods. I really like them and they are still going strong. I picked up a couple max when TW had a big sale and I think they are great rods for the price (I paid around $120). Wow. I just check their website and they list the max at $389 before sale price??? They have always been listed at the sale price of $189 on TW.
  15. If I caught my PB on live bait, in Florida or Mexico or on a guided trip I’d put an asterisk next to it but that’s just me. BUT I’d still love every minute of it and send all my buddys pics, etc. I caught a blue fin tuna off of cape cod on a paid trip which was incredible and I was able to check that fish off of bucket list...but the first one I caught on a friends boat was 100 times better.
  16. My suggestions are: buy a plug knocker, It’s saved/rescued a lot of lures/$ for me over the years when I fish traps I remove the bottom barb of the front hook. It helps with catching less weeds Hooking yourself stinks but if you only have one barb in ya, You can remove it very easily, see video
  17. Red. Red chatterbait. Red rat l trap or red eye shad.
  18. Fisherman are definitely gullible and I have made some dum purchases over the years but I have a lot of success with the ned rig. A pack of zman trds are only $4 and one pack last a long time. I can catch at least 10 times more fish with a bag of trds vs a bag of senkos.

I primarily fish clear lakes in the northeast Ned tube senko Microjigs squarebill jerks honorable mentions: Grubs, jika rigged small craws and small rapalas
  20. Bristol nh is 2 hours from Boston. You can access newfound lake from Wellington state park and you can access the pemi River about a mile after you get off of rt 93 (exit 23). I have a predator pedal and hit them both....you won’t be disappointed. Tons of smallies and depending on the season you can catch trout and salmon. I’m not up to speed on camp grounds though but I’m sure there’s a couple close.
  21. Didn’t Charlie use carrot sticks back in the day???
  22. I usually bring 3-6. If it’s a new lake Or I’m going to be out on the water for the day I’ll bring 6. If I think I know what to throw and can’t fish long I’ll bring 3. sometimes I try to work on a specific lure/presentation so that day I bring 1 rod.
  23. What part of the state? I do a lot of kayak fishing north of Boston. I don’t target cats but can help with bass and picks.
