Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Anyone hitting wachusett res lately. Hit gate 6&7 yesterday throwing kastmasters. Jerkbaits and spinners. Friend had a fish on early but it shook the hook.

Tackle Backpack
I HIGHLY recommend buying a real backpack that fits a few tackle boxes and has a few pockets. I was looking for a "fishing backpack" and the quality is terrible!!!! I wouldn't touch the TW pack you mention.....it's garbage. Try this....it will last forever and it's on sale. Bean25 will get ya 25% off. https://m.llbean.com/llb/shop/116656?productId=1614294&attrValue_0=Khaki&pla1=0&mr:device=m&mr:adType=pla_with_promotiononline&pcd=BEAN25&qs=3125053_google&lsft=qs:3125053_google,product:0SJU270000&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4OPM4Zf43QIVhYnICh3M_g94EAQYEyABEgKj5_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=COGcn5qY-N0CFctYDAodClcH9A&pn=pd&skCatId=116656 Also, as said above you don't need to bring a lot of gear. Pack lightly...cover water.

Buying rod / need aspirin!
You seem to know what you like for grip and length. I'd also suggest confirming the handle length and reel seat you like and go from there. WAIT FOR A SALE (on eBay, Black Friday or Xmas time) and you should be able to find a good deal one one of the top brands: gloomis, st croix, dobbins or megabass. I have multiple of each brand above and they are all great......but I NEVER buy a rod unless I'm getting at least 20% off retail.

Spinning combo questions
You need to go heavier on the rod and as LCG says above check the rating. You want a rod rated for a minimum 5/8oz but I'd go heavier so you can toss 1/2 jigs and some crankbaits. And 6lb test is way too light. I'd suggest 14- 20lb braid. One question. Have you ever heard of the bait monkey?? He's going to try to talk you into ordering a baitcating setup. You have been warned!!! And when you order it wait until Black Friday.

Cape Cod / Truro area Sept 15 salt water info pls
Your best bet will be the local tackle stores. I can't quote you names in that area but google will help you locate them. You can also also check out fishing reports on-line at: on the water. Goose hummock. My fishing cape cod to name a few. I highly suggest doing a half day striper trip. That's guaranteed fish....and most likely a lot of them. Also i think you can you use 2 rods per person. If not say one is your wife's.

coffee water?
I'd try big purple rubber worms, 10-12 inches on a c-rig unless that will get you hung up. Then go Texas style. And I can't believe you're blaming mark for missing that fish!!!

9.7lb smallies caught in Lake St Clair
Be careful Detroit. I said the same thing......and it was deleted!!!

Live Worms?
It works great for me in nh. I use lures 99% of the time but when I take friends or family out they use this and do well.
-
Live Worms?
The best 2 methods I used when I was younger. Lg mouth. Try blowing up the crawler with a worm blower. Use a weight so the crawler floats a foot off the bottom. You can catch trout if you do the same with smaller worms. Smallmouth. Put a dillie (smaller crawler) on a eagle claw hook that has a small Colorado blade already rigged on it. Put a split shot on the line and drag it on the bottom.

tackle shops in the boston area that do reel servicing/repair?
I also do my best to get over to Arlington bait & tackle. He has a great selection of stuff including lead free jigs and weighted hooks along with many lures you wouldn't expect a small shop to have. Rod is a great guy!!

What makes your favorite type of fishing your favorite?
Bluefin Tuna on spinning gear off the coast of cape cod. Nothing compares to it. When a fish can pull you overboard if you screw up, it's more than fishing..... and nothing taste better than fresh tuna!!! check out capt Dom at coastalchartersportfishing.Com or on Facebook.

Most fish ever caught in a season ?
Huh? Is there such a body of water that you can catch and land a 10+lb bass every 3 or so minutes 18 times in a row? That's 200lbs of bass.

Fishing live crawfish
I have great success rigging a split shot weight 2 feet or so above the hook. hook them through last tail segment and drag them SLOWLY on the bottom so they can't hide.

looking for somewhere to fish close by in MA
Anyone can fish wrights pond but if you want to park in the lot you need a Medford sticker. Just park at the rink and walk over. ive never heard of chemicals being put in spot. It's a backup reservoir so I doubt it.

It’s a major award, I won it.
Try trading it for a decent used set up or wait until next spring for the rod/reel trade in. Only time it's worth buying a rod/reel from bps is during the trade in / spring event. Good luck if you do try try to trade it be specific with what you want for a rod: length/ strength/ action and reel: gear ratio and retrieve.

looking for somewhere to fish close by in MA
How about El pond!!! I use to catch some decent fish at golden hills, breakheart, Harold Parker, haggets. You can catch biggies at lake attitash (40mins) but make sure you fish the deep part of the lake.

Getting skunked at old honey hole?
Try mixing up the baits you're throwing. Swimbait, retrieved it right above the weeds. Rat l trap, yo yo retrieve it so it falls into the weeds and then rip it out. wacky rigged senko or fish topwater at dusk. Good luck!
-
What is your go to tackle?
Besides senkos/stick worms try a jig, bladed jig with a swimbait, Ned rig. Also I love the Carolina rig with a brush hog on the end.

Anyone try PowerBait MaxScent for deadsticking under a bobber?
Try the Berkeley hellgrammites. I use them for the kids under a float and they catch everything. Mostly panfish but they get lots of action so the kids don't get board.

Other than braid
I second that.
