WHERE TO PLACE COVER
Place some shallow for spawning habitat, mainly for the smaller fish. Then place the rest between the intermediate/deep drop offs.

Fried crappie, mashed potatoes, corn, and neopolitan ice cream for desert. That will be for lunch and dinner the next 2 or 3 days, ah the life of a bachelor.

Berkley Iron silk on sale
It works great for fixing fence or roping cattle, although it may be a little stiff for roping cattle. ;D

Thermostat What's yours set at?
60 all winter, sometimes turned down to 56 at night. My propane bill has still been outrageous.

CABELAS vs BPS Catalogs
I will not shop via catalog with BPS anymore so I do not even look at their catalog when it comes, that said Cabela's has always done me right.

State Stocking Pike to kill small bass
I AM WITH YOU 100% especially on top waters! and last year I hooked ( did not land) my first muskie. I found it is time to take advantage of some of the other Northern Species I have avoided here. Right on muddy, I agree with Rolo if I had pike or musky fishing close by and 40 inch fish I would not be bass fishing near as much. They are a violent, strong fish. And if you learn to clean a pike the proper way they are fantastic table fare.

Lake Avid comes alive
Nice fish and I think that is a better picture than those that SteveP took of you...well done. ;D

Adding Structure
This seems like a winner and should just get better over time. I will take a picture once I get some better weather and can pour more concrete without it freezing up. I have made a few different variations of structures, spheres, trees, and porcupines as I call them. They should draw fish as most of the waters I fish are big mud bottom bowls. Also been taking some scrap rock, brick and making some rock piles/humps.

Adding Structure
Get some PVC, and some 5 gallon buckets, a few bags of concrete and you have a piece of cover that is hard to snag. I have just made limbs from the pvc and used he buckets to hold the concrete and place the pvc in. Fairly easy and cheap unless you are doing 36 of them

What do you wear under your waders in the summer?
Boxers or shorts if it is hot out.

Vicious Fishing Line
Was at an expo today working a booth, and talked to some of the Vicious/Outlaw guys and ended up using their fluoro for tying a few demo baits. Like Burley said if there is an issue of the fluoro and a knot, I would guess it to be the user. The copoly was what impressed me(a braid guy) and I may have to throw some on a trap reel as the only other non-braided line I use is some Yozuri Hybrid on my spinning rod.

flippin' n pitchin'
Someone needs to teach you kids how to use a baitcaster... that is one area I would never pull out spinning tackle(unless I was wearing a dress).

The first big batch of the 2X4 UPDATE:VIDEO
Talked to Jay last night and got one ordered in a bluegill pattern he is going to paint. Cannot wait to try it out in a couple months on some pre spawn pigs.

Your Dad's tackle box
Leadheads, twister tails, Mepps, and swimming minnows. I cannot convince him that big baits catch big fish. Although with a neck surgery last year chucking a swimbait is not that good on his neck.

Plastic Bass Buster boats
OK Devil's Advocate here ;D ;D ;D I have a 10 ft Bought 13 years ago (I think). Last year was the first time I have ever had a leak. And it's not at the seam. It's at the handle area. So the only water that ever gets in is rain water. I just have to flip it over and let it drain for about 10 minutes before I go fishing. It's on my list to fix this spring. My boat has always been stored outside in the elements and for the first 10 years was thrown in and out of the bed of a truck. So it's not like I have babied it. Stability ...... This where I HATE small jons. I have had 2. A 14 ft that I decked and 12 ft we just kept at a pond we had permission to fish. I originally decked the 14 ft like a mini bass boat. WAAAYYYYYYY too tippy. Cut down the decks and made them into floor boards instead. It was better but you still really had to watch yourself. Stability is the one thing I absolutely will not sacrifice. Sold it and went back to "old faithful". The 12 ft had no mods and we just sit on the benches to fish. Extremely uncomfortable and really not very fishable at all. The only jon I will ever consider buying again is one of those 16 ft Tracker Grizzly Boats (don't even know if that is considered a jon?) or something similar. And that's not really a cheap alternative. By the time that thing would be decked out the way I want it you are looking at probably close to $5,000 So beauty is all in the eye of the beholder. As far as small storable boats go, I can't think of a boat I would rather have or suits my needs better. And I am sure the jon people feel the same way about theirs Completely agree, I have only had mine a few years and bought it used but it is about as tough as I can imagine plastic being. It is also very stable, as I can stand up and take a leak off the side and not worry about tipping the boat. They are also very easy to rig up and not take up too much space. I also like the fact that I can load and unload it on my own, although I am considering getting a small trailer for it.

Now Brent, it is not about learning but bridging the gap between the geriatric unit of the site and those who cannot spell and have no respect. Either way keep it coming as I have been amused ;D

Bit by something other than a fish?
Snapping turtles Frogs Muskrat Red winged black bird Snake And while fishing up near Lake Vermillion, MN, where we portaged back to a small lake, I had a snow owl come from around the corner and almost got my Pop-R before I jerked it away. Man was that thing huge coming down, wings spread, talons out

Cutting braid
I use a small sharp pair of scissors, I think they are the nose hair trimming kind.

I believe what you are referring to is now called a "wife beater". Never understood why though. :
