  1. Just pull the motor up and clear the prop by hand.
  2. Cool. I've seen the camera jostled pretty hard by what I would assume is a bird landing on it. No wildlife spotted yet. It looks like a surveillance camera to me, I keep expecting to see a shooting victim go running by firing back over his shoulder. ;D ;D
  3. SLOOOW! Jerkbaits on the flats, and soft plastic in the shallows. Slow though.
  4. No scale, pretty big for MD though.
  5. Chug Bug replied to a post in a topic in Fishing Reports
Good luck Avid. Surgery can be scary. You had a great outing to take your mind off it though.
  6. Get up, and get your grandma out of here. Pick up, old Jim's been working hard this year.
  7. Obvious.. Chug Bug is my favorite topwater lure, and one of my most used lures when I started fishing seriously. I have an italian greyhound that looks very much like Santa's Little Helper, thus the avatar.
  8. Thanks for the well wishes everyone. It's been hard to sleep since I placed the order. It will hopefully be here by December. I'll post 3,000 pics when it arrives.
  9. I get all choked up to when I gut hook. I'm way to sensitive about injuring fish, but have gotten better about it with the advice of guys on this board. Bottom line...It is going to happen and is just part of our sport. Fish one and three probably will be O.K. Fish two I doubt. Don't let it ruin your affinity for angling though. I'm sure every member here has a story about SERIOUSLY messing up a fish with a hookset.
  10. This reply is going to make you guys hate your late budies even more.. We had in-service training one year a couple years ago with a Psychiatrist who specialized in personality disorders. Now I don't know if this is scientific fact or not, but it was what this Doctor told us. Persons who are habitually or even generally late are suffering from an axis of self important protocol. They derive great joy and a brief feeling that they are the most powerful person in the world if they know that they are able to control other people by keeping them waiting, or not enabling them to start an important meeting, event, or function. When they finally do arrive, they are invariably the center of attention which further enhances their feelings of grandeur even if the attention is negative.
  11. My partner has an 80# riptide on his 22ft Mako. You almost have to be a pro bodybuilder to deploy and retract that thing. Not very user-friendly. It is powerful though.
  12. A couple of months back I posted my interest in buying a new boat. I gave a couple of models that I was looking at and asked for your opinions. A couple of you made it perfectly clear, that they were underpowered, with poor ammenities and that I would ultimately be disappointed. I may have been a little put-off by the frankness of your responses (CART7) , but ultimately your advice was taken to heart, and re-evaluated my needs, wants, etc. Went back to the drawing board, and this time did a lot of homework. I ordered my new boat today. It's no 70 mph boat by any means, but I don't fish tourneys, and am usually by myself. So anyway, I want to sincerely thank you guys for all the tough advice. If it hadn't been for a few members of this site laying into me I would have been surely stuck with something that I would have regretted. Now keep in mind this is no 50,000 rig, but I think I picked a winner for my needs. I looked, and rode in everything...Stratos, Nitro, Skeeter, Tracker, Ranger. I took your advice and was firm with all of the dealers about exactly what I wanted. Some of their reactions eliminated their boats as contenders. This afternoon, I ended up ordering a Triton TR186, single console, Merc opti 175, (max allowable horses for the boat), upgraded hydraulic steering instead of cables, jackplate, Full bow electronics, GPS and depth in dash, lighted compartments, stainless latches, gatormount, and custom color. It ended up costing closer to 30,000 than 25,000 but I think I will be happy. Oh yeah, galvanized trailer cause I fish the potomac. Anyway guys, WAY2SLOW, CART, Iapologize for any rude comments and thanks for giving me the tough love.
  13. How did you tag the fish?
  14. 32 Bass that weigh over 4 pounds? Where in the hell do you live?
  15. Cart 7 is simply letting you, the other members, and every guest know that he is better than you in every way. It is virtually impossible for anyone to know anything more about internal combustion powered vehicles than him. Your post count automatically quantifies you as someone with little or no experience in life, let alone fishing or boating. The sooner you realize that, the sooner these guys will accept you. Please note that he stated "get screwed". What will invariably happen is my post will be deleted, your posts will be deleted, and his post will remain.
  16. I've never seen a DNR officer in the 16 years I've been fishing in Maryland
  17. I don't know about the rest of you, but I was a member of B.A.S.S. in the 90's. Short of the limited knowledge gained in the magazines, the ability to feel like a pro at regional tournies, and the cheesy two-pack of Berkley worms sent to me every time I renewed, this website offers FAR MORE support and information than B.A.S.S. ever could. I think Glenn and the Mods could get away with charging dues, and giving us patches and stickers for our vehicles.
  18. "Weed Educated" sticker......that's priceless.
  19. Welcome aboard. This site has more information available to users than any B.A.S.S. membership ever could offer.
  20. Congratulations! The opportunities that are available for anglers nowdays continues to amaze me.
  21. Why do you guys insist on thinking that I am not taking your advice? I have not posted ONCE that I didn't believe you and am going to stick with an underpowered motor. A lot of other members are debating this issue with you. Not me. I am not off hand dismissing anybodys advice on this forum, so please don't make it seem like I am being ungrateful for your opinions. GEEEEZ BTW my post on the how fast can you go thread was a joke. I think it's amazing that you and way to slow can hit the mid 70's in your rigs. I did not think that post could have been misconstrued as anything other than fun.
  22. That probably won't be around much longer either.
  23. If you are going to go with just the moonlight, it may be helpful to avoid lures with treble hooks. Stick to buzz, spin, plastic etc. Trebles can be tough to unhook in the dark.
  24. Now I know why Way2slow and Al Wolbach are busting my balls on the advice needed thread.
