New to Bifocals
For me it also helped that my sister-in-law is a professional in the field. And my daughter is as well. From them talking It is very possible to have some made that don't place the correct portion of the lense in the proper place for you to be comfortable much less see. It's just like custom fishing stuff. The builder has as much if not more to do with it working than the actual parts. Someone who has the experience and knowledge and knows how to apply it can make some really nice stuff. Same goes for the person making the glasses. The wrong frames can ruin the perfect lenses by pulling/sitting the lenses up to high. The opposite can happen low as well. Then you have the style/shape of lenses that some do not make for a great transition lenses too narrow or short etc. This is why I said originally try them for a couple of weeks you should be either use to them or making great progress in 2 weeks. If not they missed the mark designing/building them. Headaches are one of the number one causes of I'll designed / fitting glasses. The actual lenses power etc is pretty much a fail proof system with the technology and machines these days. So any decent eye physician can get the prescription correct.

Do others see inconsistent action with Some Strike King Crankbaits
I don't fish a lot of crankbaits compared to some but I fish quite a bit of the Mann's 1 Minus series as they work great in a lot of the places I go where you cant get too deep of you will have a mess. I have nothing but great results with them. They are one of my favorite crankbaits. I don't have a lot of SB in general so I have even less SB that are SK so I cant comment on my experience with them as I have next to none. I do have several Bandits and SK that run 10+ deep and they seem to do OK. Haven't really noticed any difference between the lures, more a user issue on my part as I don't have a lot of experience with deep divers.

New to Bifocals
Got my first pair of bifocals about 2 years ago. I got the no line style as well. Took about a week to completely adjust to them from my nonbifocals. Today they are just normal to me. I can read my phone great and can see my lure as far as I can cast it. If in a few weeks of dedicated wearing your still having issues I would get a second opinion or at least go back. You have to wear them to ever expect to get use to them though.

Why I chose Daiwa Tatula Type R over Shimano Curado
In this discussion Lew's wasn't even mentioned? Considering Lew's midrange reels are dead in their wheelhouse I find the absence of them in your decision odd or incomplete. Did you compare the Lew's offerings? If so how did you eliminate it and keep the Tatula? Just curious

Rough year for rods
I didn't break any super expensive rods but I did brake one new Fenwick Eagle trying to get a lure in snagged. And I shut a rod locker door on the end of my Mojo Bass spinnerbait rod. That is actually the only rods I remember ever breaking.

Trilene Big Game
I use big game 12# on many of my reels. You have to pay attention and wet the line when drawing down on it. Also be careful not to over stretch when tightening the knot. I find the knot to be easily messed up. The line works great as long as it hasn't been compromised. Of course it is possible to get a bad spool of any line it is mass produced.

Caddo Lake TX
I fished a little from the bank many years ago there. Didnt have much time then or luck. Everything I hear is it's a great lake. It looks really awesome. Nice trees overhanging etc. A friend said lots a stumps be careful if you take a boat and stay in the lanes while under power. http://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/caddo/

Any fall fishing tips with rubber woms?
As a kid I grew up with a Grape Manns' Jelly Worm as my only artificial worm I could get. Living out in the sticks and being a kid all I could buy from was the only local country store and this was the only worm sold. I caught fish year round with them. Still today a Grape Manns' Jelly Worm is one of my all time great worms to fish any time of the year.

~The Road to the Super Bowl 2016 & 2017~
Yeah just watched a ESPN piece on this where they were in disbelief themselves as to what the ownership was doing. They went through Fishers career in detail and it ain't pretty. That is why they were like how in the ___ is this possible.

Dedicated crankbait setup
As for the lower gear ratio yes that is geared that way for crank bait fishing. Its more help on deep divers that on shallow running crank baits. Like my Mann's 1 minus and square bills a 6:4 or even a 7:1 gear ratio doesn't make a huge difference from my experience. A Rapala DT 14 or DT16 type bait the lower gears make life easier from my experience. I didn't see if you fish from land or boat but if its a boat with a rod locker consider your rod locker may or may not accommodate the 7'6". I have a 2000 yr boat and 7'6" is about the safe max I can get in mine. If on land I would go 7'6" as generally speaking it will cast farther and provide better leverage.

my homemade deck extension
Not to jack the thread but I appreciate the warning. Ill consider neoprene inserted nuts or something of the sort to avoid that from happening if I do go all aluminum. My plan was very similar to the OP though so I can use the space under the deck as well. The gas rod is a nice addition to hold the lid too. I see them on the nicer newer boats.

my homemade deck extension
Excellent work. I have been debating on how I'm going to do mine. Figured this winter I'll build it. I hadn't considered all plywood. My boat has zero wood and I was thinking of keeping it that was making the extension of aluminum as well.

Loading a bass boat question
Same here aluminum SeaArk. Back in till the trailer fenders just barely showing. Idle the boat on snap the winch on maybe one snug up pull then hook the safety hook and pull out.

Crank bait deflection
Just didn't see the trees because of the forest right?

Shallow water cruisers
If that offends you please don't mention if you ever took a bass home and ate him. To some here its sacrilegious. The good part is most of us are in the United States and still have a few freedoms left. Use what ever bait is legal and have a good time.

Measure or Weigh?
Its the total opposite here. Its all about the weight with the people I am around. Using your example If I came back from fishing and the guys asked me if I did any good I better not start calling off lengths. They will bust a gut laughing, probably swear I didn't catch squat. Then they would swear I got drunk and was still drunk.

How do you load your boat: Powerload or Winch?
I load both ways depending on where and if I have a partner with me that knows how I load my boat. I haven't had any issues doing this but I am not the retard that doesn't get his trailer in the lake far enough and then sits there full throttle trying to make the impossible happen. This is what I have read causes the holes and mounds at the ends of the ramp. It was a parks and wildlife article and it makes sense so I don't run my engine like that at the ramp. I learned to back the trailer in just a foot more and the boat goes on effortless. From watching the numerous boaters that the owners have a lifetime of experience powerloading does not require full throttle bursts. I'm not a expert but I can easily powerload my boat with no winch and never really rev the engine up at all. I guess some places may be different that I haven't been that make it more difficult??? But I have seen some really bad boat loading as I am sure many of you have as well.
