Lews lfs issue
And this as well.... Drag crush washers should look like this () when reassembled. If the spacer washer that goes under the handle is bent and the crush washers are flat, the drag has been set too tight (edit..... or the handle nut is over tightened) then all three washers should be replaced.

Show off your Stuff
Where did you get it? I have been looking for months. I had one on order but was told it was going to be December instead of the first week of July.

Dad Joke Thread
- Let’s talk stories. Equipment fails with a fish on?
- Idea to fix this broken reel seat?
I have seen it done and I don't recommend it but a garden hose clamp. It works but that rod should probably be replaced. It would be cheaper to buy a new rod than it would be to properly fix it.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I can't reveal the source as they gave me good deal when I contacted them but they usually sell the 6.x:1 for $420. The faster speeds are higher. After fishing it for a few days and a tournament on Sunday, I'm starting to change my mind about the Antares 70A being the best I have fished. I wouldn't use it for big baits but everything else, it's fantastic. Looking at it, I wouldn't think it was much different than the SV TW version but it is smoother and cast lighter baits further. My only complaint is the drag. It starts slowly and then tightens up. My guess this is better on the reel when using braid. I am about 20 fish into this reel so we will see what happens.- The new Red
I have seen it used for carp and it works. I have never seen it used for bass. Should be interesting.- Lews Reel Parts
What reel do you have? What parts do you need? It's possible to find some individually and some will cross over to other Doyo products (Abu Garcia).- Why Are Megabass Products So Expensive?
Love Megabass stuff. Not because of how well their products catch fish but it's their attention to detail that draws me to it, hence the price. And that is why I approach my Megabass purchases with a little bit of caution. It may look fantastic but it could potentially be more eye catching than fish catching. On the other hand, they have some products that are no brainers like the Vision 110 but I don't need 100 different colors and a ton of different versions of a $25 bait.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I ordered the reel on Monday night last week and it arrived much faster than I expected so I was trying to find a rod during the week and contacted a few vendors that might carry the P5 Bait Finesse. I found out it may not be available until December of this year. Originally it was supposed to be the beginning of July. I then made the mistake of reading about a place having the old NRX rods for $375. When I found it, I was debating between the old and the new NRX+ (I even started a thread). I ended up ordering the old version of the NRX 802C. I couldn't pass it up at that price. I have a couple of NRX rods so at least I know what I am getting. Also, I took the reel out for a test drive on Friday and today. It is simply amazing.- Old NRX or New NRX+
Anybody own both? Differences? Personal preference between the two? Looking at getting the 802C for lighter weight stuff, since I found out the Mebabass P5 Bait Finesse I have been waiting for could be out until December.... I am going to pair it with a Steez CT SV TW. I can get the old version for a great price ($375) or the new version at regular price. You would think at the discount price on the old version this would be an easy decision.- Where have you been all my life
I have the older version. I like it better than a powered spooler. Spinning reels can be tricky though but wouldn't trade it for the world. Great tool to have around.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Made a couple extra bucks so treated the Bait Monkey to some new bling..... A Steez CT SV TW. I was able to get it from Japan cheaper than a US Metanium. Arrived in 3 days. Waiting on a Megabass p5 Bait Finesse to be in stock to pair with it.- Reels Made in USA
I have the same reel and it's made me a believer in braid on spinning reels again. Best line management out of any reel I have used. It's light as a feather, almost, and is my go to reel when my hands get tired. I just wish it was a bit smoother. Super smooth drag though. I wish there were more options for American made reels.> Even if there were, the parts would probably be made someplace else and then assembled here.- Mono Line With MOST Stretch ?
- Best catch on your cheapest combo?
Not exactly my cheapest combo but I had a Shimano Sahara 750 and an All Star rod. Total cost was about $120. Anyway, I caught a 40±lb blue catfish on a rattle trap with 8lb Yozuri Ultra Soft. It took me forever to get this fish in. The line never broke but I destroyed the rod and the reel in the process.- Mono Line With MOST Stretch ?
Original Stren comes to mind as well. That is all my buddy fishes and refuses to try anything else. Around weeds it's OK. This one of the few instances where I would use braid. It does a much better job of cutting through weeds. Stren in weeds doesn't cut. It sort of bounces from weed to weed, gathering as it goes. On average, it's great for most applications. Hook sets need to be hard as this line stretches a lot more over time. Mono for weeds, Big Game and Trilene XT use to be what I used but less stretch. Now, my personal preference is 15 or 20lb Abraxz FC.- Line for fishing around docks/boat lifts?
Same for me.- Shimano Curado K Problems
I ordered one for a Chronarch 51e off ebay. Shimano was out at the time. It was about $15 and took only a few days to get. Made the reel feel brand new. I do find it odd that this happening on a new reel. Like DVT said above, cleaning it and giving it some oil should do the trick. Since it is moving back a half turn, that means more than just one cylinder is bad, which again is really odd. I would test it by taking it out and rotaing the bearing both directions on main shift with the sleeve and see if it slips.- What is your most "productive" topwater
Whopper Plopper has been good lately.- Mono for Crankbaits?
For small cranks and chatterbaits I use 12lb Invizx and for the bigger stuff and deep diving cranks, I like 13lb Sunline Defier Mono.- What is your favorite hi-vis mono?
Just longevity wise. The color stays but most if not all mono for me doesn't last long but this stuffs not bad. The only mono that last long for me is Sunline Defier at twice to three times the cost. No hi vis option there, only camo green.- Best in stock finesse rod under 500$
I have only held the Whippet in hand only because it was such a cool unique rod. I was out for either the Super Destroyer or the X-Bites that day and not a spinning rod. On the Landsat, I would see the suggestion above. If you can find it, the Windbuster would probably handle an unweighted senko better. For me, I use a NRX 803S for these techniques.- What is your favorite hi-vis mono?
I have been using Runcl mono 15lb Orange (Amazon) on two setups (casting) since last year. So far so good. It's easy to see and good line but like all mono, it's short lived. It comes in other colors > green, gold, yellow and orange. They all appear to be hi-vis. I have had no issues with fish seeing this line or missing strikes. Even though it's orange, I can't see it under water any different than clear mono. I usually don't recommend off brand stuff but I have used it enough to say it's worth checking out. - Let’s talk stories. Equipment fails with a fish on?
