Bringing balance to The Force
The new Core looks sweet but at $350 I'm thinking Calais. If the bait monkey demands extreme satisfaction and balance to the force, how about a Calais DC and a new Stella.

GYCB´s Flappin´ Hog is back
Fantastic......... I bought a couple a packs of the original and caught fish on every single one I used. I fished them t-rigged with a 3/0 EWG and when they got beat up, I used what was left of it as a jig trailer. I hope I will be able to track some down here locally. Thanks for the info.

Red hooks...when do you & when don't you??
I have tried them on both soft plastic and a few hard baits and have found no real advantage.

Help Choosing a new baitcaster
I would have to say a Curado 100D or the Daiwa Zillion. You can't go wrong with either one.

New Loomis fan here
I have four of them now and I am still blown away by the sensitivity and power. I hope a new Senko rod (BCR893 or 864) might be in the future but I'll just have to wait and see. But so far, I have a MBR783 GLX, BCR803 GLX, MBR844C IMX and a SMR753S-SP Bronzeback.

What brand reel?
Shimano has to be favorite but Daiwa is a close second. I have been spoiled by my Shimano Calais 201A. ;D

power pro junk
I love Power Pro and have never had a problem with it. I too think it is the knot. I would make sure to wet the knot before you cinch it down. You might also try the braided line knot.

GAMMA
I have tried the Co-Polymer and I like it as well. I have have also tried the Flourocarbon and have mixed thoughts about it. First off it does not cast real well but that has been the nature of flourocarbon for me. Next, if you don't place close attention to the line and you have a kink in the line, it will break. On the good side though, I have noticed increased strikes with this line. I tested it against some p-line floroclear, Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Gamma's Copolymer using the same bait. The fish, flat out, can't see this stuff. Also, the knot strength is excellent and the line is almost impossible to break. Is the Gamma flourocarbon worth the money? Not really, but it is the best flourocarbon I have tried yet. I will be testing out Berkley's new Flourocarbon line tomorrow. At first glance, it seems be less stiff and less brittle. Also, it seems to have less memory but more stretch than Gamma.

Lures everyone has, but never catch fish on
I tend to fish at least once or twice a week like RW. I'll stop by a pond on the way home from work for an hour or two to fish a specific lure at my local honey hole to work on a specific technique. The pond I fish I always catch a lot of fish and have never been skunked. The fish their will attack anything. I have learned quite a bit from these short stops but there is one lure I have never caught anything on and that is the Bomber Flat A.

Yamamoto Double Tail Hula Grub...........
I was having a slow day and decided to pull out an old favorite of mine, the GYCB 5'' Double Tail Hula Grub. My slow day become an awesome day. I had been using some Senkos, Dingers, and a few Zoom Lizards with only a couple of small ones to show for my effort. The Hula Grub just became the next choice. By the end of the day I had gone through two bags and brought in about 15+ good sized large mouth and small mouth with these things. Has anybody else had success with the Hula Grub? I was truely amazed by this bait. If you have not tried the GYCB Hula Grub, I would highly recommend it.

best shaky head setups???
My favorite is the Tru-Tungsten Weed Wacker 3/16oz with either a Roboworm or Zoom Finesse worm. Check out the links for the video at ***. http://www.***.com/descpageTRUTERM-TTWW.html# http://www.***.com/descpageSFWROBO-RW45ST.html#

New World Record Bass
Great fish but not a WR. I would love to hook into one that big but I find me a new guy to hold the net.

Storm Lures
I have tried a couple of packs of their swim baits and soft plastic but I have had little success. I have caught a few nice ones on this particular swim bait from Storm.

FAVORITE large mouth baits???
My favorite has to be the Senko. It will catch just about anything, like the 2lb 11oz crappie I caught yesterday .

Megabass Lure Hooks?
What type of hooks does Megabass use on their lures and where can I find them?

ALL STAR RODS SUCK!
Back in March 06' I purchased an All Star Classic rod and it cracked and eventually broke after a fight with a large catfish. I took it back to shop I purchased it at and they exchanged it for another and the same thing happend on a bass the first day I used it. I contacted All Stars customer service and was given the run around. I was able to return my rod for a full refund and applied the cash to a Loomis and have never looked back. This was the first rod I have had break on me in 30+ years of fishing. One thing though, I did like the first All Star rod I had up until it broke. I went back to the store with confidence to just exchange for another that would last and hold up. That did not happen :'(

Megabass One Ten Lap Stick?
I used mine for the first time this weekend and caught two largemouths. I also used my first Vision 110 and caught a couple as well. I have to say that the Megabass lures are the finest lure I have ever fished. Are they fish catching machines? I am not sold on that yet but again they are the best constructed lure I have ever seen. On a side note, I saw a particular Vision 110 go for $140 on ebay. To me, that's insane, when I picked up the same bait in a different color for $12 (made the same year).

Gander Mountain Soft Plastic???
I stopped by my local Gander Mountain to pick up a lure I had lost and some Yum Dingers I was out of and I noticed that some of the Dingers I picked up looked exactly like Gander Mountains version. I asked the sales guy and he had no clue. The plastic looked the same but the sent of the bait was different. We even measured the dia. and length and weighed them. They were identicle. Are Yum and Gander's soft plastic made by the same people?

Favorite Tube color
I like the Junebug color and white with black flakes.

Sick of Senko's
I will never get sick of Senkos. They have renewed my love for bass fishing (among other things). I have used both the 5'' and 6'' but the 5'' has been the most successful for me. I also like the Yum Dingers but again the 5'' Senko has been the best. The 4'' Smoke Laminate Dinger in particular has been a secret weapon for me though. It is a dink magnet but it catches fish when the Senko seems to slow down.
