That would explain the avitar. I'll stop by later this week and let you know what they have.
  2. I have become a big fan of Tru-Tungsten products this year, until today. I had just tied an Ikey head jig on and on my first cast I nailed a nice 5lb largemouth but when I went to remove the hook it broke in my hands, gave me a nice cut for my efforts and I also noticed the paint was coming off and fading. Has this happened to anybody? These things are pricey and I expect them to last a little longer than one cast. Just a side note, I have used alot of their worm weights and have never had a problem.

If you strike out, I think a local shop here in Indianapolis called Angler's World still some of those in stock. Let me know and if I'm out by there I'll stop in and see what he has.
  4. I like trilene XL for mono but you might try P-Line Floroclear or Gama's Copolymer.
  5. I too went to Dicks today and saw they had several items clearenced, including all Shimano Stradics and St. Croix Avid rods. Give them some time and they will mark them down either 25% or 50% off the clearance price. That's right, at some point this year the old Avids will be $50 and so to will the Stradics, if there are any left by that time. ;D
  6. I have seen this played and it is an amazing guitar. The man you need to see and hear play it is Tony Levin.
  7. I had two oscars for years in a 55 gallon. They had the personality of cats. They always wanted attention and believe or not they like to be petted. When one died after 7 years, the other become depressed, would not eat and also later died. Sounds weird, but I have heard of this as actually being called "Oscar Blues. I now have a pair of Frontosas in that tank. Cool fish.
  8. If you have an open shot, take it. Those guys deserve to be eaten. A caged hunt and a fat wallet might cause for a p*ss poor aim.
  9. I would go for the Avid over the Loomis GL2 but if you want to spend a couple of extra bucks take a look at the Loomis IMX.
  10. Can't wait till these things come out. I hope they have redone the handle on the baitcasters. I purchased one last year and did not care for it at all (hated the hump). I returned it. But I later purchased two of the spinning versions and they are both remarkable rods for the money.
  11. I catch tons of fish on Mepps spinners, especially a Black Fury #3. If you want to try another inline spinner that is a big bass killer, pick up a Sonic Roster tail, any color.
  12. I like the DT crankbaits. My favorite is Silver in either the DT-4 or DT-6. One thing about these lure is that I have yet to find two that run exaclty the same.
  13. The whole Bonds thing is a joke and an insult to baseball. When I think of the rules that govern baseball, I think of things like pine tar and George Brett, nail files, sandpaper, Vasaline and Phil Neikro, corked bats and Sammy Sossa, etc. Why can't we look at steroids and Barry's elbow device in the same way? There is a reality check when it comes to money and baseball and then there integraty of the game. Somewhere Selig has lost it. Bonds has been excluded from punishment but what about this guy http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/baseball/mlb/11/07/rosejr.drugs/index.html?cnn=yes I don't know the details but Bonds was granted immunity for his grand jury testimony in 2003. When the subject of Bonds and steroids is brought up no one mentions Ken Caminiti. He was the first to admit and he said that his numbers did not lie when it came to how it changed his skill, .283 with 18 home runs and 75 RBI in 1994 to .302/26/94 in 1995 and .326/40/130 in 1996. He admitted to using steroids in 1996 his MVP year.
  14. I have a couple of funny ones but the one that comes up the most around the house here is this one...... I had decided to buy a new rod and reel at BPS which is about 2 hours away from where I live. I got my wife and kids up at 6:00 am so I could get back in time to try out my set up. We spent about 3 hours there and I came home with a Daiwa Zillion, a G. Loomis MBR 844C and a pink Barbie rod and reel for my 4 year old daughter. Once we got back home we stopped at my favorite honey hole and we all started to fish. After a couple of hours I had caught two dinks and my daughter had bagged about 15 fish including a nice 4lb+ largemouth using her Barbie set up and some 4'' Senkos. My wife says there is a lesson to be learned but I ain't listening.
  15. GYCB Green Pumpkin/Watermelon Laminate
  16. Here are my bargains this year and last year. All are new, in the box and purchased in store. Shimano Curado 201 SF (old version)= $35 Shimano Calcutta 251= $30 Quantum Energy Pti-a 20= $80 Shimano Sahara 4000= $15 BPS Johnny Morris Sig. 7' M Rod= $100 I would have added a Shimano Chronarch 51 MG and a Chronarch 101 BPV to this list but due lack of funds (kids starting school) I missed out :'(. I found them for $50 each but only sold together.
  17. I get that nibble all the time and I end up usually with a green sunfish on the other end. The other weird one is a nibble followed by a small jerk. This usually lands me a crappie. It seems that there are more than just bass that are interested in Senkos.
  18. I purchased a 201 Curado last year and did not care for it. It was a well made reel but it did not palm well and just felt wrong in my hands. It felt so weird, I returned it. I have since fished a buddy's 101 and I like it a lot. I was ready to purchase one of my own when I found a steal on an older 201 SF version. I have been using this reel for most of my light weight crank bait fishing (1/4 oz to 1/2 oz). It has been an awesome reel for me. It casts well, it feels comfortable, and so far it has been a very dependable reel.
  19. If I had to pick my favorite set up to cast heavy buzzbaits and spinner baits, it would have to be my Zillion and Loomis MBR 844C.
  20. I just bought a lazy boy recliner and for the money I would go for two G.Loomis worm rods. That chair was expensive.
  21. If your going to use a C-Rig, I like Zoom lizards in any dark color.
  22. I'd give the GYCB Kreature a try. I like the black with a blue skirt.
  23. My favorite buzzbaits are made by Booyah. The one below is my most productive.
  24. Barry is a first class chump and Hank is a hero. He doesn't deserve it.
  25. Nice Alpha. Those things are sweet and are getting harder to come by. Enjoy.
