i had to break off two fish Sunday morning. first time that’s happened in a while. but i fish a lot of brush. it comes with the territory i suppose.

i was an article browser for several years before i even considered joining the forums.

i took North Carolina Game and Fish magazine for many years because it covered the lakes and other bodies of water close to home. i still have those old magazines (along with my Basmasters). i love to go back and research articles every now and then, mostly in late winter when pre spawn fever begins to take hold of me.

glad to hear that y’all are ok despite the property damage. Hugo came up through my neck of the woods in ‘89 and i don’t want no more of that. hope you have power and water and AC too.

sorry to hear that man. i hope things turn around for you guys. ok, i don’t know of any better ways but here is what i do with my pics. on your iphone, go to your individual fish picture and click the EDIT feature. when it comes up hit the rotate feature (mine is like a box with a curved arrow). rotate the pic 180 degrees (regardless of where it ends up). hit the DONE feature. then go back and do the same thing again, this time rotating the pic to the desired positioning. then hit DONE. that’s it.

watched a few high school games on ESPN yesterday. it was nice to see since our state (NC) is waiting til February, but at least the ACC says they’re still playing. can’t wait for some college and NFL. hopefully it all works out. we need a return to some kind of normalcy.

i’m never this lucky ever ?

right now it appears that my fish are keying in heavily on schools of baitfish. and they’re extremely particular it appears. i’m finding large schools of both predator and prey about halfway back in some creeks. i’m throwing different stuff and catching some fish but it’s a struggle right now for me. fishing can be like that sometimes and i’m fine with it. it’s supposed to be a challenge. that’s the sporting element to me and that is what drives my passion. when they’re not biting, i want to try to figure out why. i love fishing and i go when the bite stinks just as much as i do when it’s good.

i get the day off tomorrow so i’m going fishing ?

my grandmother had a living room that us kids were banned from. couldn’t even open the door, she’d stripe you with the Hickory. all the furniture was covered in plastic. that was the good stuff.

ok, the Spanish teacher is really pretty. this is gonna be a lot better than climbing up and down a ladder all day. ?

we got it going on in our house. my wife is a sign language interpreter for the local school system. plus, we have the grandkids 3-4 days each week. she works from our home office while the grandkids split up into separate rooms. i get to oversee the grandkids, fix food, and whatever else needs tending to. good thing i’m retired. we got a taste of this back in the spring before school let out for the summer, so we’re somewhat familiar with the process. anyone else out there doing this?

i had the pleasure of seeing Jerry perform live at a conference back in the 80’s. i’d also like to give a shout out to one of my all time favorites, Bob Newhart.

i have the one from BPS and it works for me, even with the spotted bass. only thing, it doesn’t float. i tried one from Academy that did float, but i like the one from BPS a lot better.
