back in the day....night fishing with my cousin always included at least one “box” of beer, sometimes more. aside from an occasional beer, neither one of us drink anymore. short stories to follow. flying down the lake through a gaggle of geese will sober a man up real quick. i can still recall the sound of those large birds whizzing by my head in the pitch black darkness. or the time we were fishing an old abandoned intake structure when this sailboat came easing by us, no lights of course. but the love sounds emanating from inside the vessel would make a sailor blush. and lastly, flying down the lake to our favorite row of lit up docks only to find ourselves smack dab in the middle of a midnight sailboat regatta. not cool. please be careful y’all

we had an old 12” cast iron main blow out on us one night about a half block from an elevated storage tank. we couldn’t get the water completely killed either, worked all night on that one.

his catfish chunks were awful too. we didn’t get one single bite, and when i tried to feed them to my cousins dog, all she did was roll around in them.

i keep a chartreuse/orange pen in the tackle bag at all times, as well as, the chartreuse/garlic dip.

down through the years i’ve used several scents, notably Fish Formula in crawfish, Yum F2 in garlic, and they’re both excellent scents, but Megastrike is the best imo. it has the amino acids and it comes in a paste. it stays on you plastics longer and doesn’t make a mess in your boat like the liquids and sprays. it’s also easier to store and carry. you will need to wipe your fingers really good after applying it though. my favorites are the original and the garlic. a $10 tube will last a long time too as you only need to apply a tiny amount each time.

i have no idea brother. i went down along the barbed wire fence with my chain saw and picked out the ones that i thought would work. i sunk a little Holly tree about ten years ago and part of it is still there.
