  1. I hove the HG so far, recently picked up the XG! Yea, for me the K also has way more line capacity then I would ever need, which seems like a waste. I'm assuming you prefer the DC because of cast distance?
  2. I have 2 k's which I like but are kind of wide and heavy, and while they are great moving bait reels, I don't much like them for techniques where i palm the reel. I recently bought 2 chronarchs, which feel like a big upgrade from the K to me. I am curious if people are still liking the 70, or is it obsolete compared to the newer shimano reels?
  3. I mean the F5-72XX Diablo Spec R, not a drop shot rod.
  4. So no one has experience with the Megabass DSR?
  5. I have an old Bionic Blade that is still the best buzzbait rod I have ever used. I can't give it stellar marks for overall weight and balance, but it isn't bad and I don't really care for tip down presentations anyway. It has the perfect action to allow a fish to load up but still a lot of backbone to drive the hook home. What techniques do you use that model for?
  6. Never heard of it. What models of patriot do you have?
  7. I would upgrade the reel on the sierra. I like my rods and reels to "match" in terms of quality. The frogging reel will also take more abuse and you will benefit form upgrading in the long run. IMO moving bait combos are the place to save money.
  8. I am also from NY! Did you catch your 7-8 pounder here?
  9. I have handled them in store but have yet to purchase one.
  10. Thats what I thought about the 610m. It may be tough to find though, as you said.
  11. I land much more fish on 8.x:1 for frogs, jigs, and texas rigs. For all moving baits I like 6.x:1. To me the 7 speed is an in between speed I don't find particularly good for any one thing, but works for most things.
  12. True, I feel like I would need to buy a diawa reel for it though. Not really a spinning rod guy at all, honestly.
  13. Looking for a rod around 7' to throw some senkos, flukes, shakey heads, and light t rigs in the 1/8-3/16 range. I am torn between -poison adrena 611M+ -Orochi XX DSR I realize that I may not get ahold of the adrena for a while but was wondering if anyone has experience with that rod or its JDM counterpart, the 610m. I feel like that rod may have a different action, though. I have a 66M+ ALZ Zolo, but I find the rod too short for decent hooksets at 20 yards and up, and less sensitive than I had hoped. I want somethng longer and more sensitive.
  14. Maybe and sell it and buy a Chronarch which has brass gears?
  15. Have you gotten the rod yet?
  16. Tackletour did a recent review of the EMTF, stating that it "had less power than I'd expect for a Megabass F5". http://www.tackletour.com/reviewmegabass18orochixxemtf.html
  17. Probably one of the Megabass jerkbait rods, or the Expride 610m, or the new adrena 611m+ if you can find it.
  18. I like suffix seige, but it stretches quite a bit. Suffix advance is a coplymer with less stretch from what i have heard.
  19. I've seen that too. I believe he is sponsored by them, but I could be wrong. In any case, I feel that he is sort of assuming the new EMTF is the same as the old one in that video. It was made like a year ago, soon after the new XX rods came out, so I'm not sure he had actually used the rod at that point.
  20. What do you throw on the Javelin?
  21. I diddn't realize they were still around either. I have slayed bass frog bass on their 76MH blackout for a couple years now.
  22. Agreed on the above list, I would add buzzbaits in there too. I like 8:1 for frogs, jigs, and any kind of T-rig., including senkos.
  23. I agree, but I feel the brand is ripping off kids who don't have much money to spend to begin with.
