  1. IMO the old tatula blows away everything in its price class in terms of sensitivity, and the new one uses the same blank. I ended up selling mine though because the reel seat was not comfortable to me at all. The new one uses a different reel seat I believe though.
  2. It looks sweet as well. I actually just ordered my first Chronarch MGL largely per your recommendation from other posts, so I want to see how I like that first. The Antares was definitely due for an update.
  3. Looks pretty sweet! $419 on Digitaka.
  4. So it was overpromotion that caused them to be kicked before?
  5. They are using mod/mod fast for reaction techniques. They definitely use fast or extra fast for bigger single hook(non-moving) baits though. A decent number of pros are not using rods anywhere near as expensive as the rods some of the guys on the boards use. It simply depends on who is sponsoring them. For example Brent Ehler uses the Tatula Elite at $180 and Edwin Evers(who just won an MLF event) uses the BPS Johnny Morris Platinum at $180. Aaron Martens also uses $120 enigma rods which is odd given that he used to be sponsered by Megabass, and they have pretty poor reviews. IMO this shows that super expensive, sensitive rods are not necessary if pros aren't using them. Regardless for things like Jigs, frogs they are using fast rods, though probably not as fast as say, an NRX/GLX/Helium 3.
  6. I haven't used the DC but I sold my Tat SV beacuse it did not cast very far, IMHO. Kept my K's and the DC should cast better than those.
  7. i am seeing $300 for the helium before the discount. How did you get down to $211?
  8. How does the casting performance of the bantum compare to the other MGL reels? I have heard that the line guide is a little too close to the spool which means the casts aren't as effortless.
  9. That would leave more money for a rod as well. I don't understand why shimano put aluminum gears in their flagship reel either. I think I am going to first buy a nicer rod and mount one of my curados on it to see how it feels first. If I am still left wanting more, I will then add a chronarch.
  10. Good to know. How would you compare them to the metanium?
  11. Anyone have both of these to compare? The chronarch is significantly cheaper and I have handled it in store and liked it, haven't gotten my hands on a steez though. I definetly prefer the curado k over the tatula sv if that makes a difference. Will be for plastics.
  12. Braillist action should be comparable to a 744, no? Can you throw senkos on that rod?
  13. SC balance is pretty terrible IMO. how about compared to the dobyns HP?
  14. Based on handling it in the store, the E6X is not worth it. I have used the Dobyns sierra at $180, and like it a lot. Others will recommend Zodias, Avid X, Tatula elite.
  15. New Shimano SLX can be had for $70 on the bay at times, Curado K for around $135.
  16. Recently I have had a lot of problems with breakage, but for a while I swore by it. Trying out so P-line for next season.
  17. I had a tatula LT medium heavy 7' glass rod. I thought the weight and balance were terrible.
  18. Tried a glass rod once and I absolutely hated it. I believe you about the Mojo, I'm just leaning towards the Bass X because it will handle heavier baits.
  19. Yea, it will be primarily be for moving baits, maybe texas rigs if I was trying to keep my rod selection to a minimum while bank or kayak/canoe fishing. Do you think it would handle paddletail swimbaits well too?
  20. Looks like a slightly differently shaped curado 70. Personally for another $63 I'd just buy a chronarch.
