Best bait caster for light lures.
Ive had really good luck with the Alderbaran BFS. Did just purchase a SLX BFS as well, and it seems to be working really well so far.

Kayak Trailer Rod Tubes?
Ive never used a Malone tube but that might not be a bad deal. I went with 8 inch conduit, and a conduit locking kit for each. They hold 6-8 rod and reels. Pro's are they are lockable, and durable. Cons it isnt cheap to build them yourselves unless you already have the conduit. https://imgur.com/uU1Fn5J

What Rods are staples for you Kayak
Im always switching things up since I fish lakes with only smallmouth, and others that are only largemouth. I only fish out of a kayak and usually take 5-8 rods out with me so it differs when it comes to weather. But the every trip constant is, NRX+ 852 for wacky senko NRX+ 872 tubes or Shakey head NRX+ 821NRR for neds IMX pro 862c for Swimbaits Megabass destroyer Landsat for drop shot.

Help! Orochi vs Expride & Vanford vs Stradic FM
You are correct, my mistake I meant the Windbuster. Its been a long day! I have a MB destroyer Landsat for dropshot. Ive used it three seasons and find it to be really sensitive and a great rod.

Help! Orochi vs Expride & Vanford vs Stradic FM
I own and regularly use a Orochi shakey head and a Shimano Vanford. I really like the static's and own a couple of them. But the Vanfords weight and durability are awesome as well. I seriously dont think you could go wrong with either reel. As for the whip snake, I really like the destroyer, the orochi didnt resonate with me, it didnt feel the same or even close imo.

Spro king daddy frog users
I switched to the Lunkerhunt compact 3-4 seasons ago and I too have had excellent luck. When I do lose a fish it's all operator error on the set but even thats rare. They last as well, durable..

Color for polarized sunglasses?
Smith Guide glasses with Chroma-pop in green mirror lens. Bright sun, lowlight, cloudy, the smiths do exactly what they are supposed to do. I used Amphibia for years as well but the Smiths are excellent.

New to Kayak fishing...bonafide pwr129 vs old town autopilot 120
Ive been in a yak every season since 2006 and although I dont have the PWR or Auto pilot I do have a a SS127 and a Predator as well as a few other high end fishing yaks ( hobie, Jackson and wilderness ) I think the PWR is a better option than the Old town but using a bonafide for the last two season of heavy fishing I can attest that they are not lifelong boats like Hobie and Wilderness. I have things breaking, falling off, or failing on my Bonafide regularly. In fact being a member of a few different groups it's pretty common knowledge that they make a great boat, super stable but you have to baby them or they will fall apart. Ive replaced rubber parts or latches multiple times at this point. Its frustrating replacing the same parts every season. Granted there will always be the retired guy who fishes his once a month from a trailer launch but some of us tourney guys run our boats 3 days or more a week and we see the flaws faster. Cant go wrong with Bonafide, just treat them gently and they will last you a bit. Im not saying they arent worth the cost as there is truly some great R/D behind them, as well as they are STABLE, and comfortable to fish but just thought Id give my experience from fishing one of their boats for the last solid two years.

Frog fishing rod.
I was always a popper guy myself, but I slowly gravitated over to frogs. Using an older Loomis worm rod that was a heavy extra fast, and a spinning reel. I did ok but the technic never really resonated. Then I purchased a dedicated Cashion frog rod and the who thing opened up to me. Made sense. Now I love frog fishing. Long story short a fisherman can man anything work if its all he has but when proper tools are used its far easier!

Spinning rod for smaller jigs?
https://www.fishusa.com/Keitech-Tungsten-Mono-Spin-Jig/?sku=211980&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpNuyBhCuARIsANJqL9PHQvJncPbZLolO6I77pn3_NCpGbZ37Nf_a23v8cOx5iK0hzAO100waAv1wEALw_wcB My go to for my spinning rig when Im throwing jigs. On the cheap I like the Dobyns 703. But the best bottom contact spinning rod in my arsenal is the NRX+ 852 or a little bit heavier the 872

drop shot beginner
I used to DS fish alot more than I do nowadays but this weekend my normal routine was found to be lacking when the bite shut off. Broke out my drop shot rig and nose hooked a FishArrow straight tail 3" shad and the bite was back on! For me, the smallmouth in my home lakes seem to shy away from my standard roboworm baits Ive always used. When I went to hazedong, or fish arrow more bait fish specific baits I found far more success. Needless to say the drop shot rig is back in full time rotation.

Favorite method of catching fish and why?
Thats a tough one between my two confidence baits. 2/0 wacky hook, weightless senko throwing around structure or 1/8 Okasira screw head with megabass 3 inch spark shad.

Current Favorite Frog ?
Ive tried so many frogs over the years but the one I use nowadays is the Lunkerhunt compact. Little smaller but that thing works for me.

If you could only have 1 crankbait for smallmouth!
Megabass z2 in any color.

5 things you dislike about bass fishing?
1. Wind. 2. Disrespectul fisherman. Ive been in spots minding my own business to have another boat literally come within 15ft of me. Speaking to themselves, not even trying to communicate, and fish right over the top of me.

Favorite Hi Viz Braided Line
yup another suffix 832 in yellow here as well. Works!

Braid to leader questions
My finesse spinning rods get braid to flouro. I usually use Suffix 832 and different leaders depending on the technic. My casting rigs get straight flouro. I too only fish out of a kayak and it can be a pain but I dont have much trouble with knots. I use the Alberto on the water and havent had any issues.

Any tips for fishing with a noodle rod?
Small swimbaits with a Okashira screw head....Real sleigh ride when you catch big ones...

Rod for Keitech swimbaits?
I use a Megabass Flyssa for the smaller swimbaits. Okashira/sparkshad and a IMX pro 862 for the larger Keitechs but I rarely throw anything over 3.8

Would you be interested in new Megabass reels?
This. But I did vote yes, as of course Im interested but that doesnt mean Im buying one!

NRX+
Im with ya, I have favorites from different brands but for me and my hands NRX+ is the gold standard. The weight and sensitivity make them worth risking a divorce if my wife finds out about the price of the half a dozen blue banded things.

Worth it?
Im getting that way with reels myself. I own Metaniums and LOVE them, but in the end they are really just there to retrieve lures and fish. Ive got a few different cheaper Shimano, Diawa, and Abu reels that do the exact same things, feel the same and have lasted really nicely for a fraction of the cost. Rods are different, Im a snob when it comes to sensitivity and weight. But again as already mentioned, JDM is really the way for the most part, as long as you take care of your stuff since it comes without warranty.
