  1. Miliken doesn't bother me but the other guy in the video with him is a complete tool and I definitely can't stand him. Hopefully future videos don't have him in it. The frog on the other hand looks great!
  2. I wouldn't expect anything less from 6th Sense, they are quickly making a name for themselves as one of the top tackle companies. I believe their paintjobs rival that of Megabass and usually at half the cost. Everything I have of 6th Sense is nothing but quality and I'm sure this frog will fast become one of the best on the market!
  3. What color is that, the Shad Scales? Besides a great paint job is there anything that makes this different/better than other Spook-style pencil baits?
  4. I was just thinking how the OP was saying the fish were grabbing the tail and not the hook that a small trailer hook would help with the short strikes but I wasn't sure if the hook would interfere with the action of the bait or not.
  5. That new 6th Sense Catwalk in Black Magic looks great!
  6. I'm just spitballin' here but would adding a small 1/0 trailer hook work or would it interfere with the Spark Shads movement?
  7. Savage Gear makes a great Golden Shiner glide bait... https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Savage_Gear_3D_Shine_Glide_Bait/descpage-SG3DG.html
  8. For example my frogging setup is a 7'3" Dobyn's Fury 735C Mag-Heavy/Fast casting rod with a Shimano Curado DC casting reel and 65lb power pro braid. Good frogging rods for spinning setups are hard to find, I wouldn't recommend it but I've done it with my 7ft. Fenwick HMG MH/F with 50lb. braid.
  9. You're frogging with this setup? I hope it's just like a Rage Toad or Zoom Horny Toad that you're t-rigging? This is FAR too light a setup for any hollow body frogs. If you're frogging with hollow body frogs you need a Heavy setup with 50 - 65lb braid (and a baitcaster would be better than a spinning setup for frogging). The trick with frogging is to not try and set the hook right away, when you get bit count to 3 then set the hook hard. This makes sure the bass has swallowed the frog before you set the hook. It's easy to get excited and set the hook too early and miss the fish, just relax as best you can and count to 3 then hammer it home .
  10. What do you guys use for medium sized swimbaits (like 1.5 - 3.5oz.)? Straight braid? Braid to leader? Straight Mono/copoly?
  11. This thread seems in danger of turning into another Googan hate thread...lol. I honestly don't understand or buy into all the hate, if one of their baits works for me great, if not so be it but it won't influence my purchasing of their products. I actually do have some Bandito Bugs myself and I think they work fine. I haven't caught anything yet but have definitely had bites, just haven't landed the fish yet. They come in good colors and Walmart has them for $5.46 per pack which is right in line with Strike King etc. I haven't tried anything else Googan yet but they have decent looking baits...nothing extraordinary that sets them apart from other companies so far but good enough to keep them competitive IMO.
  12. I wish the Googan baits were on sale at my Walmart. I rushed right up after reading your first post about it but they all scanned in at $5.46 per pack .
  13. All of the Walmart's near me (3 within an hours drive) are completely wiped out! I've never seen anything like it for a store that isn't closing. I mean the rods & reels are almost completely empty and there are a TON of empty pegs in the bait section. I asked an employee and he said it's because Walmart buys direct from the manufacturers and due to COVID they aren't running at full capacity so the supply chain is pretty much sitting in the station waiting to be filled but no supplies are coming. That being said, I did notice a new Googan soft plastic display and that's the only new tackle I've seen this season.
  14. 6th Sense, Lucky Craft, Strike King, Megabass, Spro and River2sea for me (in no particular order).
  15. You're lucky regarding Academy. I wish they would expand up here into New England!!! I'm sick of the over-inflated prices of DSG and BassPro.
  16. Luckily our DSG is still fully stocked with fishing gear...we're talking 6 double aisles of rods, reels, lures and terminal tackle. Hopefully it'll stay that way as there's really nothing else around for a 100 miles (other than a couple small mom & pop type stores with limited selections) as far as fishing gear goes!
  17. I had it summerized at the dealer in April so the carbs are all cleaned out. I'm thinking it's the old gas though and i should replace it with some high test to help clean things out.
  18. I took out my boat this weekend and the outboard (40hp Johnson 2-stroke) didn't want to stay running at low speed (5mph and under) or idle, it kept stalling out. What do you think the problem is? Could it be bad/old gas? I know the gas in the tank is at least 1 year old...possibly 2 with fuel stabilizer in the same tank of gas twice (the past 2 winters) as I haven't used the boat much the past couple of years. If so, I'm thinking of sip[honing out the old gas and replacing it with new gas.
  19. They are really shooting themselves in the foot...when the cure is worse then the disease it’s time to start questioning!
  20. Would this handle swim baits?
  21. I think I found it as they were just barely begining to build it. It was the size of my thumbnail with one fat wasp on it...killed the wasp and scraped off the nest.
  22. Well, I went out this morning while it was still cool and generally sprayed my boat. I did see one crawl into the hole where my electronics wires come out and attach to my battery so I removed the cover and sure enough there was a big fat wasp on a thumbnail sized nest attached to the underside. I sprayed liberally and scraped the nest off. Didn’t find anymore so I sprayed in where my boat wiring runs just in case and moved the boat back into the garage. Hopefully I caught them before anything substantial had been built and with the overall spraying will deter them from making any more nests in or near my boat!
  23. I have a garage but the door is broke so it wouldn't be airtight and wasp's could get in if they wanted, that being said it was that way last year as i stored the boat in the garage and i didn't have a wasp problem.
  24. do you guys keep your boats covered in your yards or uncovered? I just figure keeping the boat covered now would be like hanging a welcome sign for these dang bugs providing a covered safe space for them. My only reserve is I'm not sure i want to leave it uncovered when it rains.
  25. I don't see a nest...I think i caught them before they built the nest, just in the looking for a place to build phase.
