well you know how deep you are with say a jig, t-rig, shakey head, etc., because you're going off the bottom with these presentations and can feel the bottom as you work the lure (hopefully). With your other sinking lures, unless you're working those close to the bottom, as well, you may want to try figuring out the sinking rate of whatever lure you're throwing. That way, you can make a cast and "count down" the lure until it reaches the depth you wanted to. Say you find a lure to sink at about 1foot per second and you want to suspend your lure in 8 feet of water. make your cast and count to 8 when the lure hits the water. at 8 seconds, the lure should be at the desired depth.

I have brady playing the jags this week, so luck is grabbing some bench for me. I would consider playing him, unless you have another qb with a better matchup.

Last time I fished there (a couple months ago) I caught a bunch of pickerel and some bass on topwater. definitely give it a try if you go early.

I was frog fishing once and I heard a biggin jump to my left. I had just made a cast and I start burning in the frog to make a cast that way. not two feet from the boat, a big bass explodes on my frog. it scared the hell out of me and I almost fell out of the boat! Didn't hook him though...

i'd have to play with it a little more. It's not one of SK's higher-end spinnerbaits, I got it for maybe 5 bucks. I've used a spinnerbait called the Banshee by strike king, also 5 bucks, and that works great, but the object of interest has given me issues. I'm gonna play around with it and see if I can figure out the issue.

perhaps one $200 reel instead of 2 $100 reels? I'm not complaining, i'd take two reels any day. but if people are gonna complain, that's the way to go.

either kill him and all witnesses and destroy all evidence, or it's too late. I only post about the places I've had luck if a lot of people fish there, anyway. Keep the good spots hidden, even if they aren't that out of the way. That way the pressure of the spot doesn't increase, people don't come through and throw trash all over the place, and the bucket brigade doesn't eat half the fish in the pond.

I bought a strike king .38 special spinnerbait off Tackle Warehouse last week. It's a solid looking spinnerbait with some real big willow blades on it. The only issue I had when I tried fishing it yesterday was I really had to burn the retrieve to get the blades spinning. We're talking having to retrieve as fast as I could. I was using a 7:1:1 gear ratio reel, so I don't think that's the issue. Am I doing something wrong or does the spinnerbait just need some better blades. I have not encountered this with a spinnerbait before.
