  1. I use 20lb Big Game and have not had any problems yet. I have used braid on and off for the past two years, and I have relegated it to carolina rigs, frogs and flipping. That is not to say that it wont work with swimbaits, because it will, but in my opinion good 20lb mono or fluro would be better.
  2. I like the old storm thin fins (a dead ringer for a shad) Rapala DT Flats and On the Line Crankbaits Little T
  3. Dobyns DX743 SH C, Dobyns 765 C, Dobyns 704CB 2 Shimano Curado 200E7's Shimano Citica 200E And a $25 Bass Pro gift card
  4. I wouldnt mind a few casts in here http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/fishingtips/news/story?page=LunkerCam
  5. Redfish when they come through, and in jan/feb I go catch the big American shad as they swim up the rivers. 7lb shad on 2lb test, now theres a fight.
  6. Have to say, it was amazing. I think the only way to see it is in 3D. I am definately going to go see it again soon, because it wont be the same on the small screen.
  7. If you look at some of the common minnows and small baitfish in most areas, you will see some that are transparent. Another way I think that they work is that they take on the color of the water around them, also like a lot of baitfish. But then again I'm not a bass so who knows.
  8. What would be the difference from just threading a jig skirt on to the line? Has anyone tried it? I have one tied on now and it looks pretty dang good, I just dont know how it will actually perform.
  9. PJ's Jigs and Mop Jigs
  10. A horizontal eye makes the lure stand up when you drag it, the vertical eye will let it fall on its side. Try it in some shallow water of a fishtank and you will see what I mean.
  11. Yup, I saw that too. After picking my jaw up off the ground, I promptly left and went to Dicks and got them on clearance for 4.99. 8-)
  12. I'd say probably in the area of $170 to $210. With the most common being about $180
  13. Chigger Craws (Both versions) I use them for flipping and texas rigs, then when they wont stay on the hook any more, cut them up and use them for trailers. Or something a lot of people seem to have forgotten about is just putting a piece of a straight tail worm as a trailer.
  14. I wish I had seen this before so I could have come by said hi, I was representing Coastal Carolina. Also, I agree with Mottfia, FLW does a great job of taking care of everyone in the college series. We did not do as well as I had hoped also, but we had three fish anchored by a nice 5lb kicker. National Guard pro Johnthan Newton was our boater and he was really nice guy, told us about his experiances as a pro, what its like to fish professionally for a living, etc. Overall it was a fun day, now we are looking forward to the regional Championship.
  15. Dobyns DX703SF and a Stradic 2500 with 6lb Triple Fish
  16. PM Dan1942, he has had one of the vendettas for a week or two now.
  17. I have the Dobyns with me so you can use it next time we go fishing, and you have used my gold carrot. I will say that in the past few weeks of using the Dobyns, that its no comparison, Dobyns hands down.
  18. Yea, I broke something big off while flipping the Big O earlier this year, and not even 5 min later I got snagged and broke it off again while trying to free it. That was 15 bucks of weights gone in 5 min, and needless to say I was a little less than thrilled. I have since moved to sufix braid and like it better due to it not being as bumpy as PP, the only bad thing is that it dosent hold its color very long.
  19. Nail polish, yea it smells like s@%t but the fish here don't seem to mind, and you can get it in any color imaginable(and some unimaginable). Also, you may want a clear hard coat to top it off. And just for fun tell the cashiers that its for your weekend job, it usually will get an interesting look out of them. ;D ;D
  20. I have used Trilene 100% Fluro since it came out but have recently switched to Triple Fish and so far it has performed just as well as Trilene, there are no stretch problems, I can feel everything, its still clear, and most importantly of all its cheaper and comes in 600 yd spools. But time will tell how much better/ or worse it is.
  21. Gotta love the good ole Mop Jigs, if your on a mop jig bite, your cashing a check ;D However if I'm not throwing that then I throw PJ Jigs for everything else.
  22. Roboworms, MM III color. Actually I just about already have a lifetime supply, I do my best to buy every store out of them when I find them cause they dont have em down in Myrtle Beach.
  23. Definately a white bass, we catch them all the time fishing smaller crankbaits and minnow looking lures. They are pretty fun because they are usually schooled up, and are petty good eating, except for all the spines and sharp gills.
  24. The color your looking for is called Okeechobee Craw. *** has them in stock.
  25. Check out ALX rods. My partner uses them and he loves them, its a custom rod so you can get whatever you want. Also hes been experimenting with blanks from different types of rods (like Steelhead and other trout and musky blanks) to build his rods. http://www.alxrods.com/
