I still wont use them regardless of who uses them. That just will become your weakest link and ive seen KVD lose plenty of fish. Only two knots youll ever need for fishing lures are a Palomer or Rapala/Surgeons/Similar knot. I use Palomer knots exclusively though and have yet to lose a fish from a knot break. Paly knots have got to be the easyest most effective knot to tie a simple knot looped over your lure/hook/etc and your ready.
  2. Yeah Falcon is good, I like my Plano StowAways. I keep my high dollar lures all together then the rest get seperated by type as you mentioned. I have four empty StowAways that I pack with what I want and slip into my tacklebag before I take off. When I get back I run all used tackle under tap water, hand dry them real quick, and put them back in their original place. Unorganized tackle can be a nightmare.
  3. I dont recommend setting the hook vertically with them, ive always had a higher hook up ratio when setting the hook from the side. If its a Largemouth size dont really matter, ive caught 1 and 2lbers on Fat Ikas.. they just inhale it.
  4. Well there are some jerkbaits that are available in which are soft. You fish them the same way but from what it sounds like it sounds like your trying to replace hard jerkbaits for swimbaits and as said before their two completely different baits. You said your trying to save space? I as well as im sure everyone else has a butt load of tackle, I hand pick which baits I want to take the day or day before im going fishing. Just take what you "need".. if you take stuff youd "maybe like" to use youll find yourself always carrying around excess tackle that will never get used. Most people will give each bait a shot for atleast a half hour, plastics aside. Just jot down a list of stuff that works for you. In general you should include atleast these 5 areas. Topwater, Bottem, Suspended, Cover, Open Water. Example.. Jitterbug, Senko, Pointer, Jig, Crankbait.
  5. Salmon always have a mean look on their face when their caught for some reason it seems like. BTW, its 10 Fat Ikas and 10 Fat Fish , also for Salmon these really are not all that big compared to how big they can get but we got enough off each fish to pass around to a few familly members all while having around 3 dinners for each of us. LOL @ the skully, it isnt mine it just mystically appeared in the car and I had no hat so I put it on. It did keep me warm all night though.
  6. Northern Strain can break the 10lb barrier. States in the upper US have LM records over 10lbs.. I read once and believe that Bass get so big down there because of the weather which supercharges their feeding. The cooler weather in the winter months makes the Northern America Basses appetite diminish.
  7. You should be happy they're doing that, their not ruining the sport their preserving it. Disease runs in a of areas. Every state has a body of water with fish who have such and such a thing. Our goverment is protecting our fisheries.
  8. Thanks for the links berry.
  9. In short and fast or, long and slow jerks. Fish will usually strike on the pause so make sure you pause completely.
  10. No warranty though and its not coming out of my pocket. I pretty much did all his engine work while he watched lol.
  11. Congrats on the reel. You must have found a new job quickly. If youd a read the thread youd know where its coming from, you and fourbizzle need to get off my back all you guys do is spam threads I make and/or reply to trying to act like you know just so much about me when you know not a thing, for the last time grow up.. go learn how to fish or something and stop instigating with me.
  12. Nice LRod, forgot Matt makes those now as well.
  13. Fished with them all day didnt catch a thing.
  14. Those are now antiques, I think itd be a challenge and a pray to catch something with those.
  15. Wow what a monster perch, now thats a dinner.
  16. Raul, do you know any other companies (maybe japanese) that make swimbaits that are on the level of Mattlures and Huddleston? I saw a guy fishing on Lake Erie with one last year that you had to tie on in the center of the lure and drop fish it. It looked amazing..
  17. Out of all the ones I saw from you I liked this one the best, nice fish.. was that a Perch at the end didnt? Didnt get a good look at it but if it was man that was big.
  18. lol I am going to have to use the stiffest rod I got. While were on the subject are their any other swimbaits that live up to the quality of Huddleston and Mattslures?
  19. Assuming you have nothing to fish with.. 1 Lucky Craft Pointer, (15-$20.00) 1 bag of GYCB Fat Ikas in watermellon seed, (4-$6.00) 2 Rapala DT-6 Sure Set series (one in pearl grey shiner and the other gold for dark/clear water) (12-$14-00), 1 Lucky Craft Sammy, (15-$20.00) 1 Heddon Tiny Torpedo. (4-$5.00) ---------------------------------- 50-$63.00 If money left get a pack of OWNER or Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG hooks for the Fat Ikas. That should catch you fish on any body of water that you will fish in.
  20. No their brand new, and your right people can catch them on spinnerbaits but not all colors in one body of water unless you use that one color exclusivly til you do. Only reason I asked instead of just chucking away is because its an expensive swimbait, no use puttin wear on it if they wont bite. I know theyd work in some lakes near me where trout are present but the few ponds I go to have no trout. BTW, does anyone know how long both of these baits would last, and I mean by how many fish aproximatly and/or time.
  21. I traded an old rod of mine that was in really bad shape for a brand new Huddleston trout and my choice of Mattlures male or female Blue Gill. Can I fish the trout with success you think in bodies of water where trout might not be present? Which Blue Gill should I get from Mattslures the male or female Blue Gill?
  22. A nail weight is just a super thin weight you wedge inside the bait. I picked up another bag today this time in Mossy Mud.. tomorrows supose to be 63 so im hoping theyll come up shallower. I will be fishing them on a Jungle bullhead Jig-Loc jig w/ a spray of BANG craw. I'm hoping theyll produce more then Fat Ikas for me but thatll be tough as their responsible for my best outing. Im hoping because.. (they're cheaper) :-X
  23. and im pretty sure your wrong, its an outing.. in the other forum people talk about other species from what ive seen while they post outings here.
  24. Oh yeah youd have a blast, they can really put up a fight. I heard the Salmon are still running strong in some areas and will be til early november, just where we go anually we were late.
