How many days have you been out fishing this year?
Hmmm...that's a tough one to calculate...which is a good thing. I will try though... I will estimate 3 weekends a month, 2 days a weekend...I will start in February, so...9 months.... 9 x (3 x 2) = ~ 54 days this year That's a rough estimate...but fairly accurate.

First cold front - FLORIDA
I know the feeling!!! Yes sir - have been trying to fish slower. It's tough for me...but I have been doing "okay" at it. I had the whole week off...and have been fishing everyday so far, figured I would spend time with the family on Thanksgiving and the day after. Back to fishing tomorrow. Me either, and was making that exact comment Wednesday on the water; "Seems like the big fish are tough to catch lately." ___________________________________________________________________________ We went out Wednesday and had a better day! Caught 9 between my 12 yr old son and I (which is a trophy day on the Harris Chain). They were back to biting like crazy. Started the day throwing worms - then the crankbait bite turned on. My son caught his new PB of 3.62 lbs.

First cold front - FLORIDA
Now that we are a few days into this first cold front down here in Florida...how is everyone doing on the water? The bite has been tough for me the last 3 days - nothing seems to be working well at all. Threw soft plastics all day yesterday, finally landed one on a shallow crank - fishing Lake Harris in Central Florida. Fish seem to have lock jaw - hoping they are a bit less finicky and ready to eat today. How has everyone else been doing?

Screenshots
Ok - will do. Sensitivity was at 8 for the DI and the traditional sonar. I will bump those up and see what happens. Thanks for the feedback.

OK - I have a little bit better screen shots. Unfortunately, I didn't have any specific structure to scan today - will try to locate more tomorrow. Out of the few screenshots I did get, I do have a couple of questions. In this screenshot, I think that is a fish at about 12', but I am questioning my sonar settings now. What do you think? Clutter or fish? I can almost see that defined arch. Same here at 18' Any obvious fine tuning that can be done, please let me know. Thanks. Will follow up with some pics of scanned structure with known fish later.

Ok guys - you may have to endure a bit of my learning curve....but here goes Unit: Humminbird 698 SI/DI Viewer: Humviewer Based on the image (crappy, I know) are there any obvious settings that I can fine tune to increase the quality of the imaging? On either the unit or the Humviewer software? Why does the 2d look so poor? Is it just the cheaper unit? Thanks.

Why such big braid?
I agree - here is the mono comparisons just for the Visual people. Trilene Big Game Monofilament diameter 10 / .012 12 / .014 15/ .015 20/ .018 25/ .019 30/ .022 So, this supports my original post - it has a lot to do with performance for me - because I surely don't need 50 lb test braid fishing a t-rigged worm...but it helps!!! and it definitely catches fish!!!

Why such big braid?
Sorry Tom, that's too much work for me - it was just to give the OP a general idea.

Why such big braid?
I found this chart on another site - which explains why I fish 50 lb braid on my baitcasting reels. My baitcasters recommend 12 lb mono for best performance. Different companies braid is different diameter, so this chart may help. I fish power pro. Cubs/Indians?!!
FLY THE W!!! Hands down, by far - the best baseball game I've ever watched...and I've been a baseball fan for life. This edged out Bautista's Bat Flip game last year....with that CRAZY sequence in the 7th inning....yeah....this was WAYYYY better! GO CUBS!!! FLY THE W! Hats off to Cleveland....they played a hell of a season...post season...and world series. It was fun.

Cubs/Indians?!!
Looking good for the cubbies!!!!

Rapalas
I had the same feeling this last weekend too - I caught 9 in 2 days on the Harris Chain - which is polar opposite of what I've been experiencing the past month or so. Happy days are here again!!!
