  1. Interesting. I usually tie mine so that they're about 6'' longer than the length of the rod (excluding reel seat and handle).
  2. That was my biggest takeaway from reading it. I usually use a 6' MHF for senkos but I'm really going to research and reconsider
  3. I read a cool article today and thought that I'd share it: http://www.bassmaster.com/tips/gary-yamamoto-senko
  4. I think so as well Great line for the price. I got a 1700 yd. spool a while ago at wally world for like $5. Enough mono for me for 2017 at least
  5. keep it simple: 5'' senko, t-rigged on a 3/0 hook. no weight 6'' finesse worm, t rigged. little/no weight. 3'' grub on a 1/8 oz jighead
  6. H20 Express squarebills, Rebel bluegill crankbait
  7. Ugly stik or lower-middle range shimano rod paired with a nice pflueger reel would be a great little panfish/crappie rod.
  8. Made a few orders from different places this Black Friday. I didn't go out shopping (spent time with family), but did end up getting some cool stuff online: From Bass Pro- Minihopper crankbait Several different BPS brand cranks and a KVD 1.5 in Gizzard shad BPS "Egg" wakebait Yum Craw Pap, BPS Stik O's, and Berkley Havoc Hawk Hawg, Boss Dog, and some other assorted plastics From Amazon.com - Rebel Pop-R's From Gander Mtn. - 6'6'' MH/F Vortex Casting Rod
  9. Ok just wondering- thanks
  10. Why the straight shank hook over an round bend or EWG?
  11. Top 3 bass lures this year for me: 1. Bottom hopper in June bug on a 1/16 oz t-rig 2. 5" Yum dinger (weightless) in watermelon red on t rig 3. Baby brush hog in watermelon red on a 1/16 oz t-rig
  12. Thanks for the info I got the 6' 6'' MHF in hopes of using it as a spinnerbait rod. I would've liked something longer, but I'm not complaining about it for $20 shipped
  13. Just placed an order for one. hoping they're good rods, but I guess im not out much if they're not....
  14. I used to think that the answer was the 5'' senko. But the 7'' finesse worm is turning into my favorite now. But they will both catch fish
  15. Amazon.com has a good price on Rebel Pop-R 3 packs- $7.82. that works out to about $2.60 each. The last time I bought one I think it was close to $6 just search "rebel pop r triple threat"
  16. I agree 100%. I've had great days with that fly and even caught some very nice warmouths and bluegills. I think that you could also use an UL spinning outfit to cast them if you used 2 or 3 split shot weights further up the line.
  17. This all day long. But hooking them with lures and flies can be more fun
  18. May I ask what those setups are?
  19. A short spinning or casting rod in ML, M, or even MH, depending on where you are and what you're looking to hook up with. You can get a combo or just buy a rod you like and match a reel to it (this is what I'd recommend). good luck
  20. I started fly-fishing for panfish this summer. Small weighted (beadhead) wooly-buggers, "fluff butt," or other flies are easy to cast and still fall pretty slowly. Small spider flies are good too. I've had some great days (50+ panfish in an afternoon, easy) with these techniques
  21. Finesse worms on a light t rig
