The weather forecast says it might drop to the mid 40's tonight and the lows for the next week will be in the low/mid 60's in the area I live in South Florida. I prefer 40-60 degree weather for long distance running. -1 degrees is too cold to enjoy running and most hobbies. From what I read the Polar Vortex might make the northern MidWest states extremely cold for the rest of the month.

I am very confident in topwater fishing but do well in several other techniques. Well said. Time spent wisely on the water is very important.

You have to be in decent shape to be good in skateboarding so it is a sport. Anyone can bass fish. With that said the hobby of bass fishing is more popular than skateboarding which is a sport.

More people watch football than play it since football is an extremely physical sport and most people cannot handle it. Bass fishing is different where almost anyone can do it (we all know people who are awesome bass fishermen but can not even run a simple 5K run). Both American Football and Soccer are much more popular than bass fishing.

Thank you @CybrSlydr. Been running marathons, half marathons, other long distances for over 12 years now. Ran +11 miles nonstop earlier this week and it felt good. Hopefully we get 40-50 degree weather the day of the race.

One of the things I like most about bass fishing is that bass will hit a wide variety of lures. Because of this I do not have one favorite lure and instead enjoy using several types of lures. There are times that a specific lure works the best but it is not a guarantee that lure will always be the best in every situation. With that said the best thing to do is spend time on the water, learn what the bass bite in the area you are fishing in, and with time you will be very consistent at catching bass.

I purchase a large percentage of my fishing gear from Amazon, Ebay, and other online stores. I often get prices lower than many places I shop in person, often get free shipping, and save money and time (more valuable than money) when I shop online. Also get some custom tackle online that I cannot find anywhere near me. I have only good things to say about the people I have bought from online and I will continue to do so since I save money and time doing so.

Powerlifting is a sport. Olympic weight lifting is a sport. Speed walking is a sport. Swimming is a sport. Running is a sport. Bodybuilding is not a sport and it never will be. As for bass fishing it is considered a sport by many but most athletic people do not consider bass fishing a sport. With that said I am very fond of bass fishing and it is one of my favorite hobbies but I do not consider it a sport. Bass fishing is very popular since its a hobby that almost anyone can do and you do not have to be in good shape to do well in it. You will never see bodybuilding in the Olympic Games and that is a good thing! The current top bodybuilders will never be able to pass the Olympic Anti Doping Committee since these people are well known for abusing anabolic steroids to reach the unnatural size they have. Besides the Olympics are for athletes. I see bass fishing as a hobby as well and not a sport. An exception might be considering land based shark fishing as a sport, especially if the person uses no fighting belt, no fighting chair, help from others to land the shark. You definitely get a decent workout catching a shark bigger than the average man if you catch that shark without a fight belt or fighting chair.

Would like some of that cold weather to come down here for the rest of January. Got a half marathon to run in the end of the month and temperatures between 40-60 degrees Fahrenheit are best for long distance running.

I prefer using Power Pro when it comes to braid. Berkley Big Game for mono. I catch big bass and other big fish on a consistent basis. If it aint broke dont fix it.

Well said @Mike L. I also open a thread based on the subject matter and the date it was written does not matter much. What matters is the information in the thread and there are plenty of old threads in this forum that are very good. With that said this particular subject reminds me of a bitter old man that screams ''get off my lawn!'' to a kid. Good idea but I doubt everyone will use the new scales they get since they will be disappointed in how much their catches weight. Many times the people that ask to guess the weight of a bass do not even get a length and girth measurement so it will be hard for them to weigh bass.

Looks like a good crankbait for smallmouth bass.
