Megabass Windbuster
Interesting, its power rating is 3.5. MB Med Hvys are around 4.5 to 5 I thought.

Seaguar Abrazx
I was gifted a spool of 8# Abrazx. Never used it before.. how does it perform? I'm expecting that it would be good on a spinning reel and used for bottom contact techniques. Thoughts?

Megabass Windbuster
On the cusp of black friday deals I would like to add a quality multi purpose spinning rod to my arsenal. As I'm not into BFS, i'm looking for a spinning rod that I can use for finesse hardbaits and bottom contact techniques. Pairing it with a JDM Stradic 2500 HGS and likely 8# sniper. Thoughts? Other recommendations?

Can't decide
Heavy, medium, medium heavy, mag light, OMG. As there's no industry standard, rod power is sooooo subjective. St Croix taught us that eh??

Lithium batteries purchase
My '23 Ranger 521r came with the "Tracker" branded lithiums, all upgraded to the "100" size. Made by ReLion. They've worked great for this season but my cranking battery died after a very long day on the water. Lithiums produce full power all the time, until they cannot and then they switch off! Ranger provided a Noco booster with the boat which I put to good use. My setup is 1x RB100-HP and 3x RB100 deep cycles.

- Florocarbon line test
There are already lots of viable Floro options available with a wide variety of characteristics and prices. Why even bother? If there's going to be a technological revolution with Floro, pretty sure it will be Sunline or Seaguar at the forefront.- Im in love - Conquest MD 300XGLH
Ready to pull the trigger on one of these from Digi and looking for rod recommendation. I'm from Ontario which means that I have many FW species to target. My thought for this setup is something between my Bass and Muskie setups (Pike?) and being useful for all 3. As this reel has a decent retrieve rate i'm thinking a fast or xfast action application would be best. Looking around it looks like a bass swimbait rod would fill the gap nicely in the 1-3 oz lure range as I already have a moderate action setup in this category. I also prefer longer, 1pce rods up to 9'. Likely spooling up with a 20-30 lb mono. Only the main stream brands are available to me so please keep that in mind. Cant afford to have a 9' rod shipped over the border, or worse, over the pond..lol Thoughts and recommendations?- Calling all MB Orochi Experts!
Purchased a "Whipsnake" earlier this year along with a Luvious FC LT2000S running 6# shooter invisible. Works very well for Drop Shot and NED rigs and I really like the look and feel at this price point. Moving forward I would like add 1 or 2 more of these rods (spinning) and wondering which way is recommended. Ronin - they state is for jerkbaits but I already have 3 moderate action casting rods that perform that duty (and more). Is it worth it in the end? Shakeyhead - looks like the obvious addition as its longer/heavier and more suited for for an all-around spinning setup for bass/walleye. Enforcer - like the Shakeyhead, just a bit stiffer but I'm concerned this will overlap some of my casting JWRs that I have but possibly land right between the casting JWR and Shakeyhead. At the end of the day I like to have 3 spinning setups on deck. Anything heavier (IE weighted tubes/jigs) will go on a casting JWR (IE. DX-743) Thoughts?- Braid recommendation
FMZ16? I'm from Kitchener.. you?- Braid recommendation
THIS^^^ 50# should suffice. If you're around rocks or timber, check for fraying and retie as ness.- What rod to upgrade to
sorry to drop this in but I'd recommend a megabass Orochi whipsnake. I added one to my aresenal this summer and I'm very pleased. Similar price the the SC LTs.- Daiwa Zillion SV TW 1016
I have a zillion tw sv in 5.5 that I'm still finding a purpose for. Got it originally for spinnerbaits but it seems to have issues casting them due to the high resistance. For me, I have one more option to try and if that doesn't work its up for sale. I'm comparing it to a circa 2016 Chronarch Ci4 which for me, casts much better. If only it had a lower gear ratio. YMMV.- Finesse spinning reel recommendations
yep...lol- Finesse spinning reel recommendations
Just ordered a Luvius FC LT 2000S and I'll have both the Levante and Orochi in my hand so I can decide on that. Figure that 6# Tatsu would be the best line for this?!?! Or one of the Sunline Snipers- Finesse spinning reel recommendations
Lots of good thoughts! Thank you. I'll be looking into the Luvias and the Orochis.- Finesse spinning reel recommendations
I'm in the process of buy 2 MB Levante spinning rods - the Shaky Head and the Whipsnake for finesse applications such as drop shot, Neko, shaky head, split shotting, and small tubes/jigs. I want something worthy (in quality) for these rods and I'm really leaning towards the Airity 2000s (with the lowest gear ratio and 4-6lb floro). but they are a bit pricey. Thoughts? P.- Lake Erie Smallies
Thank you, Long Point Bay is a huge smallie spawning ground and as its quite sheltered, it warms up earlier than most places. If I can swing it, I'll go out the day before and see what I can find with my Active Target checking transitions into deeper water first.- Lake Erie Smallies
Hi Everyone, I'm from Ontario which means the Lake Erie bass season opens the last Saturday of June. I would like to attend a big fish derby that day but I've never hunted lunker smallies this time of year. Where do the females go after they spawn? Do you think the spawn will be late this year due to the colder temps so far? Will the big fish be aggressive or will a finesse technique be in order. TIA<- ML Mod Fast spinning rod
I currently use a Fenwick Aetos 7'6" ML XF rod for drop shotting and small jigs w/ 8# floro. I'm now looking for something with the same power but more moderate/fast action for cranks, spooks, etc. I'm leaning towards the 1 power KLX from Kistler - what length do you recommend? I would expect the longer rod would help with casting distance. I fish out of a 21' bass boat so length isn't an issue. Also looking to pair this with a JDM Shimano Vanford 2000 in the lowest gear ratio they make. Thoughts?? P.- ML spinning setup - which line?
I'm wondering which is the best floro (6-8lb) for a ML spinning setup? I want to end up with 2 setups, both around 7-7'6" in length. One xfast, the other med fast. Wondering which line would perform the best. TIA< P- Tokyo rig - VMC types
Want to try these rigs this summer but I don't want to buy every shape and size imaginable..lol What sizes do you recommend? Also, isn't a neko rig a wacky w/ a nail weight? How do you Tokyo that? TIA<- Tungsten Weight Selection
As a followup to my other thread on tungsten, what weights do you stock in your tackle box? I typically carry 1/8 and 1/4 worm weights, I have a couple flippin weights but I don't recall what size (i've never used them either). I mostly drop shot for smallies in shallow water (~6ft) all the way down to 40FOW in Lake Erie. Looks like I can get up to 3/4 oz. I'm also going to try a Tokyo rig this year so I'll likely use worm weights on that. TIA! P.- Bulk Tungsten Sinkers
Thanks, and they even ship to Canada ? - Florocarbon line test
