  1. Appreciate the info. I might have to p/u 3. Pro blue and French Pearl with the Kossori Shad.
  2. Thanks guys. Will take into consideration. Really like the look of the HT Kossori Shad that has some flash, some transparency and some chartreuse.
  3. I plan on purchasing two MB Ito Vision 110 and wanted to ask you guys what are your favorite colors for clear water Smallies?

I have the 90 in natural gill. Worked excellent on Smallies last weekend. With the 3 sticky trebles I pinned all the fish that hit it. Worked it very fast with a St. Croix 6' 8" M/XF. Definitely will p/u another in the 90 size in a skeleton chartreuse.
  5. I use a 1/16 oz. Owner Ultrahead Finesse Ball Head which has a #1 size hook: I also use a # 1 Owner Rig-N-Hook with a 1/16 oz. bullet weight:
  6. I also have a St. Croix DS rod. I think it'll be the rod I'll use instead of my Loomis. Thanks.
  7. I would be using mono. I'd be throwing small poppers and jerkbaits, shad raps, etc. Basically a 1/4oz. and less.
  8. The new GLX at a cheaper price.
  9. The Ned rig. Phenomenal.
  10. I have a Loomis DS spinning rod and was thinking this might work for small topwaters and jerkbaits. Anybody have any feedback?
  11. I'll try it both ways. Thanks.
  12. I just picked up a Storm Chug Bug in black red herringbone and I wanted to ask if other anglers use a snap or tie directly to the lure?
  13. I purchased the SB-105 today. I got the same consensus as you from my research. Thanks for your help.
  14. I'm plan on picking up another casting reel and it will be spooled with mono. I appreciate your help mojojojo.
  15. The LC Gunfish 117 almost looks identical to the Evergreen SB-105 and was curious if it has the same action as the SB-105? It's quite a bit cheaper as well.
  16. Thanks guys. I will give small crankbaits a try. I will be using #8 Yo-Zuri Hybrid which probably doesn't stretch as much as mono.
  17. I have a Mojo 68MXF casting rod on the way and is going to be used primarily for topwaters and jerkbaits. I was curious to what other lures and techniques you guys use it for?
  18. I have a pontoon boat and use a jerkbait all the time. I must of hooked 10+ smallies this morning on a Shadow Rap. I use a side and down presentation from a twitch to a rip.
  19. 4" Yum Dingers on a DS 3.5" Dry Creek Double Tubes w/ Lindy E-Z Tube weights 4" Zoom Dead Ringers Texas rigged with 1/16, 1/8 & 3/16oz. Lucky Craft Gunfish 95 Lucky Craft Pointer 78
  20. I had a Zman Finesse Shroomz head @ 1/16 oz. & 1/10 oz. bend on a couple of Smallie that were maybe 2lbs. this morning. I'm looking to try the Gopher mushroom heads for comparison.
  21. Last Sunday I was out targeting Smallies and didin't get a sniff with jerkbaits, tubes and various dropshot baits and switched to the Ned Rig and hooked into over dozen fish. However I lost 9 Zman Finesse Shroomz heads in different weights on rock on wood. How does the weedless version come over wood and rock? Any other rigging suggestions? This weekend I'm going to try a #1 Owner Rig-N-Hook with 1/16oz. tungsten bullet weight and a Charlie Brewer Weedless Spider head though the hook size might be a bit long. A Charlie Brewer weedless Crappie Slider head might be a better match(?).
  22. Thanks for your help guys.
  23. I'm seriously thinking of purchasing the Avid X 69MLXF and plan on using # 15 PP Super Slick 8 with a #8lb. flouro leader and was curious as how the knot will come through the micro guides? I wouldn't think it would be an issue with this small diameter of line but would like to hear some feedback from fellow anglers.
  24. I'm definitely pickin' up a pink jerkbait and some bubblegum soft plastics. It sounds like the color works most effectively during pre-spawn. Thanks for everybody's feedback.
