So I’m thinking the double shot would be better at the bow? Or get two triple shots, one for the bow and consult???

Going to use Lowrance hook fish finders on the new boat. My question is do I get a split shot for the bow and the triple shot for the consult or the other way around??? Just want to make sure I put the right one in the right place. Thank you for all input. Have a blessed day.

Looks like the wife likes the Nitro. Not 100% on it but not going to complain either. I was looking at the Ranger Z178 too, that’s still a possibility.

The main lake I plan too fish the most has a motor restriction limit of 115hp. I know right it sucks. My wife told me to get the I wanted. I have picked the following 3 boats all fiberglass, Ranger Z175, Triton 179 Trx and the nitro Z117. Which one should I get??? I am not oppose to aluminum boats at all. Just haven’t looked at them yet. Thanks for your input

I have a h-bird now on my Triton. I like it but I was thinking about getting the Lowrance A-jay. Thinking about putting a 7 inch on the bow and the consult.

Buying a new boat Ranger RT 178. I’m looking to put a 5 inch or a 7 inch screen on the bow and on the consult. Just trying to figure out if I want to Humminbird or the Lowrance. Any advice would be appreciated. It will be a few months before I do this so I’m in no rush. Thanks again

My amazing wife has given me permission to purchase a new boat. She is tired of driving an hour and a half to fish Lake Hartwell. We have a lake that is less than 20 minutes away but has a motor restriction. Which to me makes absolutely no sense. So I did some research and I’ve decided to get a Ranger RT 178. My dilemma is do I go with a 60 hp or a 75 hp. The type of fishing I will be doing is week day fishing just me and My Wife. Obviously the 60 is less money which is very nice. Not too much worried about speed. Anyway y’all’s opinion is most appreciated thank you.

I just have one question, what is the best soap out there for a deep clean on a old boat? I try to keep up with it but working the overtime that I do plus home projects that needs done, I just don’t have the time I wish I had to keep the boat clean. And that doesn’t count the fishing I wish I could do...anyway thanks for your input.

I took out the two bank charger and am monitoring it now and will see what happens in the morning. At least it’s not tripping the gfi. I do have it hooked up to 2 batteries. So far all seems ok.

Today my wife and I went boating it was supposed to be fishing. Cruising along and the alarm went off, I immediately stop the engine waited a few minutes, crank it back up went back to the boat ramp, everything was fine check the motor it was peeing. Decided to try it again, the alarm went off again so I called a day. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be? Thanks for all input. PS the motor did seem to run sluggish not sure what that’s all about either anyway hope y’all have a blessed day.

I forgot to unplugged my boat, which would be ok if a big rain storm did come by. The inside of my boat was full of water and I didn’t realize this until days later. Now my 2 bank battery charger tripes the gfi plug. Fuses are ok, my question is this, is it time to buy a new charger? The one I have is about 4 1/2 years old. Maybe it’s just me but I seem to be a little confused about deep cycling batteries and cranking batteries. Can you use deep cycling battery for starting your motor? I thought that a cranking battery and a deep cycle battery are two different types of batteries, one for the trolling motor and electronics and one just for starting your motor. I’m looking at Duracell because it’s more in my budget at this time.

@A-Jay, what would I be looking at to know if they are compatible?
